Land Rover Defender 130, 2022. JLR have completed the new Defender range with a long wheelbase (130 inches) 3-row, 8 seat model. The Defender silhouette has been extended by 340mm over the 110 version, providing a maximum load capacity of 2,516 litres with three rows of full-size seating.

DeLorean Alpha5, 2022. The first renders of the all-new model from the DeLorean Motor Company have been revealed. Like the original DMC 12, the Alpha5 has been designed at Italdesign, it will also be built in Italy using an electric drivetrain sourced in the UK. Production will be limited to 88 cars, base model will have a 100 kWh battery that provides over 300 miles (483 km) of range. The DeLorean Motor Company are working on other models including a V8 coupé, another electric sedan and a hydrogen-powered SUV.

Olympian Model O1, 2022. A new electric start-up has revealed a retro-styled electric concept that has a 82 kWh battery pack to travel 305 miles (490 km) between charges. The minimalist cockpit  is possible because of a “voice first” corneal system. The Model 01 will sell for $100,000 but no on-sale date has been announced yet

Maserati MC20 Cielo, 2022. The open-roof version of Maserati’s mid-engined supercar has been revealed. Cielo is Italian for sky. The retractable glass targa-style roof adds only 65 kg to the weight the closed coupé. It is powered by the same V6 Nettuno engine-based hybrid drivetrain as the coupé.

Polestar 2 BST edition 270, 2022. A new special edition from the Polestar Engineered turning division. Output is boosted to 350 kW (476 hp) with lowered ride height (-25 mm) and adjustable dampers. There are new matte black 21-inch alloy wheels shod with 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres, developed specifically for this car. Production will be limited to 270 cars worldwide.

What a difference 63 years makes juxtaposition of Buick Electra, 1959&Buick Electra X, 2022. An electric coupé crossover for the Chinese market that borrows it’s name from an historic full-size Buick model made between 1959 and 1990. In fact the Electra name came from Texas socialite and sculptor Electra Waggoner Biggs, the sister-in-law of GM President Harlow H. Curtice.

Mercedes-AMG ONE, 2022. The series production of the Mercedes-AMG hypercar has been revealed. The performance hybrid produces a total output of 1063hp (782 kW) from one combustion engine and 4 electric motors, with a top speed capped at 352 km/h. Utilising F1 technology, the ICE part of the hybrid drivetrain is an electrically turbo-charged mid-mounted 1.6 litre V6 engine capable of 11,000 rpm. 

Nissan Z racecar, 2022, by Nismo. A racing version of the new Z-car has been revealed in Japan prior to taking part in the the ST-Q class of the Super Taikyu Series and will race at the Fuji Speedway on June 4/5. Modifications include eight-spoke Rays alloy wheels with bigger Brembo brakes, vented bonnet, a front tow hook, black fender extensions, a racing-style fuel cap, and a larger rear wing. Changes to the road-car’s 400hp 3.0 twin-turbo V6 have not been revealed.

Wiesmann Thunderball, 2022. A new electric roadster from the German specialist car maker who have, in the past, made retro-styled sports cars based on BMW mechanical parts. Project Thunderball uses 800 Volt battery technology developed in collaboration with Roding Automobile. Two mid-rear mounted electric motors produce a combined 671 hp delivered through he rear wheels. Production will be limited to 1,000 units at €300,000 each

Porsche 911 Sport Classic, 2022. A new retro-styled limited edition of the 992 series 911 based on the the Turbo S with a 542hp version of the twin turbo flat 6 driving the rear wheels through a 7speed manual gearbox. The limited edition will be limited to 1,250 units. The interior includes Houndstooth upholstery
