Damien Dorelli - Nick Drake’s Pink Moon a Journey on Piano
A bad recording is usually the opposite of bad. The sound is scratchy, the microphones might not have been calibrated properly. The guitar is faint, not quite as rich as you might like, breaking up in the high end. There's interference.
What this does, though, is not create a bad sound, something that I just wish had been done properly. Instead, it lends texture to a piece, gives it a sense of place and time. It becomes a tangible thing, rather than just a piece of music.
It helps when you’re Nick Drake, of course.

Here is my take of the beutiful song “Day is Done” of the great Nick Drake. I know it’s different from the original but it’s hard to replicate Nick’s guitar playing and singing. He is one of the reasons I picked up the guitar again. It took me quite a while to learn these fingerstyle patterns and be hable to sing at the same time. I guess during these months i just started playing the song in my own way. It’s not perfect but I’ve learned a lot and it made me a better guitar player. Hope you enjoy it.
