Trying to capture different aspects of these characters’ personalities and backgrounds for the designs was so much fun and I’m so happy with this set! Hope you all enjoy them!

Nott The Brave!
It was really fun to draw, I guess I’ll end up drawing all the group, I’m thinking about who will be the next…
I encourage you all to watch Nott during the part where Fjord is explaining why he took on Vandren’s accent and how doing so made everyone listen to him compared to when he used his real one. Nott looks genuinely blown away and heartbroken by this. We always knew that Nott and Fjord had a ton of eery similarities, but I think this truly cemented that idea for Nott herself. I think, for once, she not only really believes him but also heavily relates to him. Sam’s roleplay of this scene was so impressive because while he made sure Nott was still in character and teased Fjord like she always had, she also didn’t hesitate in to give Fjord her dagger and you can see how seriously she is taking this despite her jokes. She’s using the jokes to make sure Fjord knows nothing has changed, even though for her everything has in regards to how she views him.
#i took this advice and i’m so glad i did #sam/nott looks super serious throughout but sits BOLT UPRIGHT when fjord talks about how changing his voice AND APPEARANCE got him NOTICED #it’s like something clicked in her brain#nott does NOT want to be a goblin #but she also doesn’t want to go back to being a bullied halfling child or an invisible housewife (even a happy one!) #…oh man#other people have articulated the parallels between fjord’s and nott’s arcs but they never hit me this hard before #they both went from miserable put-upon childhoods to ordinary lives that they loved #which were then violently ripped away from them THROUGH DROWNING #and replaced with extraordinary lives that they…maybe…came to love…more?? #i’m suddenly flashing back on fjord’s ‘these days i’ve spent with you are the most exciting of my life’… #…and nott’s ‘i ditched my husband in a den of monsters to go adventuring with you’#I HAVE A MILLION FJORD-AND-NOTT FEELINGS OUT OF NOWHERE#THESE TAGS COULD BE THEIR OWN POST (via@night-filled-mountain)

i’m really happy with how this one worked out since i rarely do full body pics… also why did i give myself all those extra hands to draw. i ending up colouring this a lot more than i expected, mostly cuz i was real thirsty for the big green boi, ok. every time i think about ‘i did my own dental work’ i need to fling myself on the floor and weep.
