in which you get rejected

“I’m sorry. Y/N. You matter a lot to me, but… I just don’t see you that way.”

What?

The words struck you like a bullet to the heart shot from point blank. How could he say that?

You and Jungkook had been best friends. You weren’t the type to fall for people, it usually being superficial or fleeting.

But you really, really thought this would be different. You thought that all the time you spent together would’ve opened Jungkook’s heart the way it opened yours. You had made room for Jungkook in your life the way you had never done for anybody before. If he wanted to talk to you, it didn’t matter what you were doing. All your plans were canceled and you would at his side right away. Even if it was something stupid, it mattered to you. All the late night talks, or early morning pillow fights, watching movies by each others side and letting him talk through the whole film. You showed him he was important to you. And he did the same for you.

Sometimes.

Sometimes he would blow you off, but he usually had a good reason. You knew he was the flirtatious type, that he didn’t get attached to people, but neither did you and you both clicked instantly, so you thought you’d be fine, or get over it quickly. But you fell fast, and every bit of kindness he showed you pulled you in deeper.

So when you came over tonight dressed in your cutest (sexiest) outfit, you were so sure that he liked you back. You made up your mind to confess, right before your weekly movie night. You did movie nights at least once a week, because ever since you’d met, he wanted to spend almost every moment by your side. It was him who seeked you out at the start, it was him to kept calling to meet up and hang out, it was him who would call you randomly just to hear your voice. Movie nights were his idea, after you told him you had never seen a second of Star Wars, and he called you to come back the next week, and the next week, bringing up more and more movies he wanted to watch with you. You laughed with him, you cried with him, there was never a dull moment in your friendship.

And now he was saying he didn’t even want to try dating you.

Fine. That’s okay. It’s probably selfish of you to assume that he kindness was him being interested in you. You were just glad that you went with a simpler confession rather than spilling your guts about the depths of your feelings for him. If you had poured your heart out to him and he rejected you, you would’ve jumped off a building right then and there. How embarrassing.

So, you steeled yourself, not wanting to make him feel bad for not being interested in you. You played the field too, you knew how awkward it was to have to reject someone. Granted, you had never been rejected, but you were sure you’d get over it. Your feelings were not his problem.

“Oh,” you made yourself fake-laugh, so convincing even he wouldn’t be able to see through that. “My bad. I just thought– but it’s fine, don’t worry about it.” You turned back to the TV, making your words as light and casual as possible. You kept a light smile on your face, ready to just blow past the whole thing and not let any regret or sadness show on your face.

“You sure?” He said slowly, studying your face carefully. You looked back at him cluelessly, as if wondering why you were still talking about it.

“Uh, yeah?” You playfully scoffed. “Don’t worry about me, Jeon. You said this was your favorite movie, right? You’re missing it.” You singsonged, shutting down the conversation and turning back to the TV with finality, playing the movie.

You two sat there, in total silence, for ten minutes, your thoughts swirling around your head in regret and remorse for the happiness you had before you realized everything you had been dreaming of was all inside your head. You cleared your throat unable to take the awkward silence, movie nights were never quiet for so long. You checked the time casually, pretending like you just remembered something. “Oh, I should head home, sorry.” You stood up, gathering your purse and putting your shoes back on.

“Wait, what? So soon?” He fumbled with the remote, pausing the TV.

“Yeah, I didn’t finish all my work so I’m gonna wake up early tomorrow to finish up the final details and turn it in.” You walked towards the door of his bedroom to leave and he stood up, rolling off his bed after you.

“Um, okay, do you– I mean, I can walk you out?” He asked, stepping after you.

“Don’t worry about it.” You waved him off dismissively, keeping the emotion off your face as you put a hand on the doorknob. He stood in the middle of his room as you stood at the door, looking back at him as he floundered in place.

“Okay…” he said, staring at you like you were a puzzle that had just unsolved itself. “I’ll call you later? Before you go to bed?”

“Sure,” you shrugged, opening the door. “If you want to.” You said, already thinking of excuses not to answer the phone later. “Bye.” You said, shutting the door before you heard him answer back. When you didn’t hear any footsteps following you out, you slumped to the floor in front of the door, letting your tears slip out.

No, you sniffled, you can’t cry here, if he comes out and sees you, he’ll be even more worried. You told yourself, gathering yourself off the floor and stumbling toward the dorm’s kitchen, thinking of getting a glass of water to splash on your face.

Hoseok was having a pretty normal day. It was the boring kind of normal, the type that makes you wanna run a mile just to feel something and usually he ends these days by going out and doing something wild and crazy to keep from going to sleep unsatisfied.

So, it only makes sense that the universe would find something wild and crazy for him.

When he went to get a glass of water from the kitchen, he wasn’t expecting you to stumble in while crying. Hoseokdidn’t even think youcouldcry. “Whoa.” He said, at a loss of words besides that, the sight of the tears streaking down your face and the sad puppy-dog-look in your eyes genuinely surprising to him.

You startled, clearly not expecting to bump into him either, starting to frantically wipe at your face. “Hoseok. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to– I was just leaving–”

While he was wholly unprepared for this situation, the last thing he wanted to do was make you think you couldn’t have the freedom to cry around him. Moving towards you, his instinct to comfort came out naturally. “Hey, now, sugar, it’s alright.” He hummed, pulling your hands away so you didn’t rub so hard at your eyes. “What’s got you crying like this, hmm?” He gently swiped the tears off your face, drying your cheeks with the cotton of his sleeve while you stood there letting him comfort you. He had never really been so close before. You were Jungkook’s friend, not his. But being this close to you finally, he roved his eyes over the fine details of your face. He could see the small beauty mark under your eye. Somehow the blemish made you look more perfect.

“I just–” You shook your head, a big sniffle as you calmed down from your crying. “Don’t worry about it, I’m gonna head home.” Your turned towards the exit, deciding to forgo the water, but he grabbed your wrist and pulled you back gently.

“Did you bring your car?” He asked.

You shook your head again. “I don’t, umm, I don’t have one,” you mumbled. “My place isn’t far.”

“This isn’t the time to be walking, it’s pretty dark out,” His brows furrowed with concern as he looked down at you. “Lemme drive you. Please?” He added in, seeing the reluctant look on your face. He thought you’d refuse, until you looked back up at him.

“Mkay.”

He led you out to his car, sleek and black. He was proud of it, and wondered if you were impressed with it at all. You probably weren’t the type to obsess over cars, but he saw you give it a slightly impressed looking glance and celebrated in his head.

He drove you home after you told him your address, an apartment on the out skirts of campus. It was a silent drive, you looking out the window, and for once, Hoseok didn’t know what to say. He wanted desperately to cheer you up, to see you smile, to make you smile, but he worried even more about saying the wrong thing.

“Sorry.” You said suddenly as they pulled up outside of your place.

“Don’t apologize, you didn’t do a thing wrong.” He said, and he meant it, despite your reputation for being known as cold hearted, he didn’t think anyone cold hated would cry like that. No one cold hearted could be friends a dork like Jungkook, not the way you two were glued at the hip.

“If that’s true,” your lip started to tremble, the tearfulness coming back into your voice. “Then why doesn’t he want me? I did everything right, I’ve always been there for him–” You sobbed, covering your face as you let it out one more time, full on crying again.

“Okay, sugarplum, please don’t cry, it’s so hard to watch you cry.” He pulled some napkins out of the center console, the stash he keeps from getting takeout, to wipe your eyes with, trying to calm you down again. “What’s wrong? Seriously?” He told his head, trying to get you to look at him. You glanced at him, bottom lip trembling from holding back your cries, hesitating over whether or not to tell him.

“I… I told Jungkook I liked him… and he rejected me–” You said, breaking off into sobs again, taking the napkins out of his hand and blowing your nose into it.

“Yikes.” He looked around awkwardly while you blew your nose. Dealing with a girl crying was hard enough without dealing with her crying over one of your best friends. “Umm, wow, I’m so sorry, that really sucks.” He said, patting your back gently. “If it makes you feel better, I really thought you two had something already. I mean, you’re the first girl I’ve seen Jungkook treat like a real person. Not that he isn’t a gentleman but, well, you know what he’s like.” You looked up at him blankly, not seeming comforted by Hoseok’s rambling. He scratched the back of his neck, removing his hand from your shoulder. “Umm, sorry wrong time.”

You were mostly calmed down now, face still warm and flushed from the crying. He played with his keys as they hung from the ignition, trying to think of ways to cheer you up. “It’s still a bit early, if you wanna get your mind off things instead of going home.” That seemed to pique your interest, a spark lighting up in your eyes. He continued, “I know this good night club, good music, good atmosphere, everyone’s pretty chill and will keep their hands to themselves if you just wanna dance. I go there to blow off steam all the time.”

You looked out the window silently and for a second he thought you’d refuse. It’d make sense, you didn’t know each other that well. You were just Jungkook’s friend he brought to the dorms sometimes and he was just some guy to you. But you turned back to him with fire blazing in your eyes and nodded.

“Let’s get wasted.”

He had severely underestimated two things about you.

One. How much you could drink.

He liked to think he was an experienced drinker. Sure, he flushed red, but he could hold his liquor, usually knowing how much was too much. You, however, challenged him to a drinking battle and ordered the hardest, fruitest drinks he had ever tasted. It’s not to take another sip when it tastes like delicious fruit punch. So he drank. And drank. And drank. And so did you.

The second thing he underestimated was how tempting you could be.

With every drink it was like your inhibitions melted away, scooting closer to him on your bar stool and touching his arm, his shoulder, his thighs, until he was far too drunk to think about whether it was a good idea or not. That damned smile of yours, sexy and smug like you knew how irresitible you were. You probably did, there’s no way you could be that gorgeous and not know it.

To him there were pros and cons in situations like this.

Pros: you were hot, you were just as drunk as he was, and he had been kinda, sorta, totally crushing on you for a while now.

Cons: you were likely in an emotional headspace and were likely just trying to get your mind off Jungkook, and with how drunk you were, you would forget this in the morning.

But to be honest, he has never been prouder to be someone’s rebound.

So when you pulled him out of his chair to the dance floor, body and actions loosened up by the alcohol, and grinded yourself against him, hips swaying in tandem like you were meant to fit together, Hoseok couldn’t help but want. He could only stand there running his hands over you on the dance floor for a few songs before pulling you with him to somewhere where he could hold all of you, see all of you.

He pulled you into a bathroom, locking the door. Not his ideal location, but he needed to feel you around him now, and by the way you were giggling as he hastily dragged you off, you were down for it, your eyes stirring with the same desire he had.

He pushed you up against the door, turning you around and flipping up that tiny skirt you were wearing that he’d been wanting to rip off you all night and stopped for a second to admire the way your lacy underwear hugged your ass and hips. The thought that you’d probably worn this outfit with Jungkook in mind crossed his thoughts, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. His loss. Jungkook’s a good friend of his, but if he was willing to let you slip through his fingers, then he already lost his chance.

And finder keepers.

He leaned forward, caging you in with his body and sucked a trail up your neck to your ear, nibbling at the sweet spot just under it. “You want this, baby?” He asked, pressing his hips into your ass as you moaned.

“Yes.Please,” you whined out, grabbing at his wrists on your hips. “Make me feel good.” You said, leading his hand to your core that was already wet for him.

He ran a finger over the damp spot on your underwear. “Mm, you’ve been hoping for this, haven’t you?” He hummed, locating your clit and rubbing with more pressure.

“All night.” You breathed out, leaning your weight against the door as he rubbed you through your panties, making your legs shake already.

“Then I’ll make sure its worth it.” He rasped into your ear, stepping back to pull down your underwear and help you step out of it, stuffing the pair into his pocket and tugging his own pants down.

You chuckled, leaning your head against the door to look back at him, hips still pushed out as you waited in position for him. “I’m not getting that back, am I?”

“Nope.” He smirked, sliding his fingers into your wetness to work you open for him. “If you want it back, you’ll have to see me again sometime to get it.”

“You sneaky man.” You faux-chastised, smiling at the way he was already making plans for next time.

He chuckled, plunging his fingers deeper and wiping the smirk off your face. That, the look on your face as he moved his fingers inside your tight heat, the fluttering of your eyes as you focused on the bliss he was giving you, almost made him finish in his pants before anything even happened. You were just too gorgeous, and he’d been waiting for something like this for too long. But he knew where he wanted to finish tonight.

He slipped his fingers out of you, raising them to your lips and you sucked them in eagerly as he lined his tip up with your core. “Such a perfect girl,” he breathed, pushing in and hissing as he felt your walls practically suck him in, a drawn out moan as he entered coming from your mouth. “Fuck, your body’s incredible.” He groaned, watching the way your back arched, hips tilting back to meet his thrust.

“Go faster please,” you begged, canting your hips impatiently as you stared down at the sight of his cock disappearing inside you. “Please I can take it, just wanna feel you deep inside.” You gasped out, walls tightening around him at the thought of it.

And lucky for you, he was happy to oblige. “You got it, baby.” And with that, he sped up, slapping his hips against yours until you were crying out in ecstasy, moaning his name as you tried at grip onto the door, nails scratching the wood.

“Mm, fuck, more,” you mewled out and he chuckled deep in your ear, tightening his grip on your hips.

“You want more baby?” He pushed you up, flat against the door, fucking up into you so hard the door banged against the frame with every thrust. He reached down, rubbing your clit in time with his thrusts as you moaned out and you leaned your head back against his shoulder, eyes rolling back as you came from the intensity. He groaned at the feeling of your walls milking him dry, the way your walls fluttered and squeezed him perfectly. The sound of your moans set him off, your beautiful voice making him cum inside of you with one last hard thrust, too pent up to last any longer.

For a moment, the only sound was your heavy breathing intertwined, the two of you catching your breath from how desperately you were fucking into each other. Then, remembering suddenly, Hoseok asked, “Shit, you’re on birth control right?”

You giggled breathlessly, nodding in response, and he sighed, relaxing back into you, arms wrapping around your waist as he worked up the energy to get you both cleaned up. You were practically boneless, the sex and alcohol making you stumble as he walked you to the sink, propping you up on the edge and spreading your legs for him. If he could sear this moment into his brain, he would. You, sated and soft as you leaned against the mirror, eyes trusting and open as you let him clean you up and your soft lips curved into a cute little smile.

“You were right,” You said as he cleaned you up, taking a wet paper towel to wipe the mess he made on your thighs. “This place is pretty clean.” You hummed, looking at how spotless the bathroom was. Clean smell, no hair in the sink, fancy soap, this place looked like the bathroom of a five star hotel.

Hoseok smiled up at you, turning to throw away the dirtied paper. “Yeah, it’s a great vibe. I know the owners, they’re pretty cool.” He said, drying you now.

You played with his hair as he attended to between your thighs, letting the calm quiet overtake you for a moment. “Thank you.” You said quietly, not wanting to break the softness of the moment. “This could’ve been a horrible night. I could’ve been laying in bed crying. But I don’t want to anymore. So thanks.”

Hoseok finished cleaning you up, fixing your skirt and laying his hands on your thighs reassuringly. “If you ever feel like crying, you can just come to me.”

You smirked despite yourself, “Already thinking of round two?” You teased, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.

He laughed, but shook his head. “No,” he said, standing in the space between your legs and leaning in to kiss you almost reverently, hands giving a squeeze to your thighs. “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a repeat of this night. But you’re cool. I want to get to know you. Maybe be friends beyond us seeing each other sometimes when you’re hanging out with Jungkook.”

Your gaze softened, touched by the offer. “That’d be nice. You’re a cool guy, Hoseok.”

“I try.” He shrugged, looking away almost bashfully. “You wanna head home or are you still down to party?” He asked, pulling back and holding a hand out to help you down.

“I think we’ve partied enough. Let’s go home.” You said once back on your feet, stretching out your body and walking towards the door.

And this time when he drove you back to your apartment, you were both smiling and talking, making excited conversation as he walked you all the way up to your door. You stopped in front of your place, turning around to face him after you unlocked your door. “Sleep well.” He said, warmth in his eyes and voice as he looked down at you.

“You too.” You nodded, turning the knob and stepping into your place backwards, keeping eye contact with him until you closed the door, matching stupid grins on your face. As the door shut, you disappearing from sight, Hoseok stood there a few more moments, thinking about how incredible the night was, how incredible you were. He walked back to his car, more satisfied than he’d ever been in his life.

Hoseok was so going to rub this in Namjoon’s face.

Ride With You (part three)

Or, Jungkook’s Ex-fiances Can Really Hold a Grudge

A loud bang shocked you awake. You head whipped up, surveying your surroundings. You were laying on a bed of pink fluffy covers and pillows, too luxurious and expensive to be the homely covers you and Jungkook had in your last safe house. As you slowly sat up, trying to gather your bearings, you realized you were chained to a bed post by your foot, purple canopy shrouding the mattress. You put your hand out to steady yourself, accidentally pressing on a doll you didn’t notice behind you, and jerked back after hearing static crackle out of it.

“I love you,” it said, voice ridiculously cheery and garbled through static.

“What the fuck.” You tossed the doll off the bed, turning to see stuffed more animals bundled on your other side, bunnies and bears and all different shades of bright pink.

Looking down at yourself, you realized you were wearing pink, a frilly skirt and silk pink blouse, and reaching up you felt your hair twisted and braided with bows and ribbons intertwined. Moving the covers off of you, you saw you were wearing knee high pink boots and thigh high stockings. Someone had dressed you like a toy.

“Oh, is it awake?” A voice in the room asked. A hand pulled the canopy aside, a tall, broad shouldered man looking down at you with disinterest. He spoke to you as if you were a child, handing back the creepy doll you threw. “Throwing things is bad. Don’t you love your dollie?”

“No! Let me out!” You yelled back at him immediately.

“Dolls don’t speak.” He said uncaringly, throwing the doll next to you.

“Fuck you!”

“Or curse.” He added, giving you a pointed look.

You heard a ruckus in the hall, the same clanging that woke you starting back up. “I swear to God, Jin if you don’t let me in!” You heard Jungkook’s voice muffled from behind the door.

“Calm down, Kookie.” The man sighed, exhausted as if this happened regularly.

“If you’re hurting her in there–!”

Jin opened the door, Jungkook standing behind it with bloodied knuckles.

“Did you really think you could punch the door open?” Jin asked as Jungkook pushed past him, ignoring him in favor of getting close to you.

“Baby! Are you… what the fuck?” Jungkook did a slow turn around, analyzing the room you were stuck in. With the canopy pushed aside you could see more of it too. A heart shaped rug on the floor, pink walls and cushy chairs around the room. It looked like a pink-obsessed preteen’s room.

“Are you okay?” Jungkook shook himself out of it, rushing to you. Jin held him back however, pulling him to a desk beside your bed, which was in the corner of the room.

“You’re not getting blood all over the pet. Give me your hands so I can clean them.” Jin took Jungkook’s hands as the younger man stared up at him in defiance, wiping them with an alcohol wipe and ignoring the wince he let out at the burning feeling of the liquid.

“She’s not a pet!” Jungkook spat out. “And if you don’t let us out of here right now–”

Jin cut him off, tired of his tirade. “Wasn’t Jimin supposed to be watching you? Who let you out of your room?”

Jungkook gave him a bewildered look, not having any idea what he was talking about. “Jimin and Taehyung weren’t even there–”

“Of course they weren’t.” Jin rolled his eyes. “They think this whole situation is way too amusing. And I get stuck with the pet.” He muttered to himself bitterly, but Jungkook heard it.

“She’s not a pet.” He protested again.

“Whatever.” He finished wrapping Jungkook’s knuckles, talking down to him again. “Now you can play with it, gently.”

“I’m not a fucking child. What do you even want from us?” He demanded, glaring up at Jin’s unresponsive face.

He shrugged. “You’ll have to take that up with Namjoon. He’s on his way here now.”

“Shit.” Jungkook hissed, hands gripping his hair. You reached a hand out, confused but wanting to comfort him. He sighed in exasperation, crawling in bed beside you. “Baby, I’m so sorry.” He said, taking your hands in his bandaged ones and kissing your knuckles.

“It’s okay, Koo. We’re together, aren’t we?” You smiled warmly at him and he pressed himself against your neck. You could feel him smile back weakly. As long as you two had each other, nothing could break your spirits.

Footsteps sounded from down the hall, heavy and loud, followed by two more, lighter and less purposeful. Someone was stomping towards you and they weren’t alone.

A head peeked around the corner first, one of the men that kidnapped you there with a delighted look in his eye. Jimin, you remembered. “I knew it! I told you this was the first place he’d be!” The man cheered, striding into the room as if getting ready to play a fun game. Another man you didn’t recognize followed him, settling in a chair with a laptop and immediately getting to work typing something. Jimin’s attention was entirely on you and Jungkook, a sharp smile on his face as he inspected the way you and Jungkook curled around each other, but you didn’t feel any warmth from his happy expression. The way his eyes seemed to burn into all the places you and Jungkook were touching made you think he was far from happy. The other man sitting by his side paid you almost no attention, only glancing up at you boredly through his curly fringe, seemingly uninterested.

“He was supposed to be in his room,” a deep voice said, angry and stern. A third man appeared in the door way, large and much more imposing than the others, an air of authority surrounding him. He was dressed in all black, a suit jacket, crisp slacks and button down half buttoned, hair slicked back. He stood there a moment, intense eyes narrowing as he stepped towards you both at a leisurely pace, calm body language contrasting the fierceness in his eyes as he studied you and Jungkook. He leveled a look at you, all emotion in his eyes disappearing as he readied himself to speak, quickly focusing on business. He held two manilla folders of files in his hands, placing them down on the desk where Jin had dressed Jungkook’s hands.

You guessed this was the Namjoon that Jin spoke of, Jungkook’s arms tightening around you the closer thisman got. Jungkook’s body tensed as if preparing to attack, or block an attack, eyes not straying from the perceived threat. It was clear this was someone Jungkook did not want to be around, nevermind have you around.

“Now that you and your pet are awake, we can talk about why you’re here. We have a lot to discuss, especially with it in the picture.” Namjoon said, gesturing towards you as if you were a nuisance. Jungkook shifted to cover you slightly more, trying to block you from their piercing sights.

It is a girl, and she has a name.” You glared back at the man, meeting his gaze head on. Whoever he was, you would not let him intimidate you. It was clear that he was the boss around here, but you weren’t going to bow to him.

A slow smile spread across his face, but it was not comforting in the least. It was smug, as if he could see right through you. “Oh, I know your name.” He said, flipping open one of the files he placed down, and reading off of it.

“Name: Magnolia Barnes, Age: 27, Ethnicty: Persian-American, Sex: Female, Favorite color: Yellow, is an architect and loves mangos.” He took a pause, flipping the page as he continued in faux apology. “Oh, no, my mistake. That’s your cover identity. Your real name is Y/n L/n, your real age is 24, your real ethnicity is Half Korean, on your mom’s side, your real favorite color is blue and your real job is a covert agent of espionage. For a rather notable organization as well, they were pissed when they found out you deserted. With the person they assigned you to kill no less.”

“You were supposed to kill each other and fell in love instead.” He continued, looking between you and Jungkook, “How cheesy,” Namjoon scoffed.

You bit your lip discreetly. They knew your current cover identity already and all the real information about you that you had buried long ago. No one knew that stuff besides your old organization, so how did he? You didn’t bother to ask, if there was one thing Bangtan was known for, it was having eyes and ears everywhere. They made deals with anyone and everyone and never got caught. How much else about you did they know? What did they want with you and Jungkook? They seemed to want him back, and did not look happy to see him with you. Would they try to kill you and toss you aside to have him to themselves? You cleared your mind of the racing possibilities, you needed to stay calm if you were going to find a way to make it out of here with Jungkook.

“Look, just tell what you want with us or let us go.” Jungkook said, redirecting the conversation away from you.

“We could let you go…” Namjoon hummed, tilting his head as if considering it.

“Then do it–”

He cut Jungkook off. “–But then, you’d be defenseless against your agencies. They’re looking for you, you know?” He raised an eyebrow, giving an almost sympathetic look to you both.

“They’ve always been looking for us and we handled it just fine.” Jungkook growled. He was fighting to stay calm but you could tell he was starting to lose his patience.

“You won’t be able to handle this on your own.” Namjoon said, gesturing to the other man in the room. “Taehyung, if you could tell our guests how big the mess they’re in is?”

Taehyung’s voice was even deeper than Namjoon’s as it rumbled, turning the computer he had been typing on towards you, the screen showing a black market listing he pulled up, Jungkook’s face and yours plastered on the page with numbers that had too many zeros below you both. “It’s confirmed, there’s a big bounty on both of your heads. Anyone in the business will want to catch you. You’ll have a lot to fend off on your own.”

“So you need us.” Jimin added, leaning against the man comfortably. He seemed to never have anything other than a sly smirk on his face, at least when he was around you.

“How could we possibly need you?” You asked, dubious of this whole situation. You and Jungkook had done a good job monitoring your own status, keeping track of who was hunting you and when. Two whole giant organizations, especially your old ones, gearing up to attack you both would’ve been noticed by you.

“Jungkook, can you keep control of your pet? We’re trying to have a serious conversation.” Jin rolled his eyes, and you glared at him. Why were they so dismissive? If they looked into me, they should know I’m just as skilled as Jungkook, if not more and yet they talk as if I’m an idiot, you thought to yourself. Was it just pure jealously or was there another reason for their excessive hostility?

“Stop calling her that! If you want me here, you’re going to have to respect her, too!” Jungkook shouted, silencing the room.

“Oh great, another tantrum.” Jimin faux-whispered to Taehyung, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear, Jungkook redirecting his glare at him.

“No, no, if the pet wants respect, it can have it.” Namjoon placated, cutting the tension in the room. “We’re going to need both of their help for what we have planned anyways.” He continued, ominously.

“What you have planned?” You narrowed your eyes at him, asking for more clarification.

“Did you think we were protecting you for free?” Jin asked, arms crossed. He seemed to completely hate you already, patience far too thin when it came to dealing with you.

“We will protect you, and you will help us take down your old agencies.” Namjoon said, walking towards the door, silently deeming the discussion over. “They’ve been a thorn in our sides for too long, looking in too closely on us. You are going to use all the information you have on them to help us destroy them. It’s a win-win situation.”

“Working with you is always a loss.” Jungkook countered. Namjoon didn’t give any reaction to that statement, but turned back to look at you both with a blank face.

He studied the two of you for one last moment, then said, “Goodnight, Kookie. You can spend the night with your pet but we have to get to work in the morning. Let’s go.” At his command, all the men filed out after him and you turned to Jungkook immediately after you were finally alone.

“Is there any way out of here?” Was your first question, not wanting to stay in the room a second longer. You pulled a bobby pin out of your hair, using it to unlock the shackle around your ankle and standing up to take a closer look at your new room.

“Nope. If I know them, they’ve got cameras in the hall watching the door. They definitely have cameras in here. They may even be recording our words right now.” He picked up the creepy doll from before, ripping it apart, pulling out a voice box and a microphone.

“That’s not nice, Kookie.” A deep voice crackled through the speaker, different than the cheery voice of the doll. “What did this doll ever do to you?”

“Aren’t you better than this, Yoongi? Spying on a girl like a perv?” Jungkook stood from the bed, scanning for where they might be watching from. “Where’s the camera, huh?”

“Look to your left.” Jungkook turned. “Your other left.” He turned the other way. “No, yourotherleft.” He turned around completely.

“There’s only one left!” Jungkook asked in exasperation.

“Yeah, but I made you spin in a circle.” Yoongi chuckled through the voice box. “I’m not telling you where the camera is. If you try hard enough you might even find it. But here’s a hint, there’s way more than one. And more microphones.”

“Yoongi, you asshole, stop messing around.” No response. “Yoongi!” Nothing.

“Ugh.” He threw the box to the floor and stomped it into pieces, then flopped onto his back on the bed in a huff, glaring at the ceiling as if it would burn a hole in the roof.

While the situation you were in was far from humorous, you couldn’t help but chuckle a little. Jungkook was sulking like a bunny who had been denied a carrot. It was a small piece of normalcy compared to what chaos had been sprung on you in last few hours. “Are you okay?” You said after letting him sulk for a bit, petting at his hair softly. He looked up at you, irritation melting as he reached up to cup your cheek, concern for you in his eyes.

“Areyou? You’re the one they keep calling ‘it’.” He scoffed, brows furrowed in anger as he glared at the door. “They aren’t giving you any respect.”

You responded, “Yeah, but you’re not getting much either. Were they always like this?” You asked, indicating to the way they spoke over him and acted condescendingly towards him and his feelings.

“Yeah.” He hugged a pillow to his chest, it covering his mouth as he spoke again, muffled, looking back at the ceiling to avoid your eyes. “I used to like it, though. Rose tinted glasses, I guess.”

“I can’t imagine you ever being told what to do and liking it.” You laughed. Jungkook was the definition of independent. He called the shots and you let him, he was experienced and confident and following him never let you down.

“Yeah, let’s not talk about it.” He said quickly, an embarrassed blush on his face.

You gazed down at him, thinking. You were essentially trapped. While there were a number of ways you could get out of the room, the layout of the rest of the building was unfamiliar and you would almost assuredly be caught maybe placed somewhere worse. You would take the olive branch they extended for now, and stay in your room. At least you were still together for now.

Jungkook huffed. “I wish it wasn’t so pink in here. I’m getting a headache.” He threw an arm over his eyes.

“Yeah, me too. Whoever did my hair made these ponytails way too tight.” You stood up, kicking off your boots. Little strawberries decorated the heel and toe of your socks. “This is a bit ridiculous.” You scoffed, moving to the vanity and undoing the hair style, pulling out all the bows and clips until there was a small pile on the counter top, letting your hair down instead to rest your scalp. You decided to explore, pulling at drawers and opening doors. The room was large, almost a perfect replica of what a dollhouse bedroom would look like, with fancy dressers and attached rooms for a bathroom and a closet. You looked through the closet, already stocked with dresses and uncomfortable looking shoes. You pulled open the drawers in the dresser and found more fluffy, frilly, silky clothes, even an underwear drawer with colorful patterns on everything. “I’m a girl, I’m not five years old!” You yelled into the room, knowing some microphone somewhere would pick it up. They really were underestimating you, insulting you without words. When I have the chance, I’m slitting all their throats, you huffed to yourself.

“Just come and get some rest. There’s no windows in here, but last I saw it was already dark outside.” Jungkook sighed, gesturing for you to lay back down. He was laying on his back still, quiet in that way he got when he felt overwhelmed. He was offering for you to sleep but you doubt he’d be getting any rest tonight.

“Alright.” You sighed. For his sake at least, you resigned yourself to spending the night in the lion’s den. You laid yourself in Jungkook’s arms, and while you thought your unfamiliar surroundings would keep you from sleep, his heartbeat lulled you into slumber, strong and steady, like him.

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things (extra!)

Or, You’ve fallen back in love with your ex (and his boyfriends, too!)

A/N: until I finish the next chapter of Ride With You, I’m gonna upload other stuff I had been working on <333

“Ah, honey, you’re home!” Jin smiled widely at you from the kitchen, a bowl propped up on his hip. “I’ve made the most delicious foods for you, come sit at the counter.” He said, gesturing to the shiny marble countertop. You smiled, taking a step towards him.

“But she can’t eat without washing her hands!” Taehyung responded, beckoning you towards the bathroom. “Come wash your hands before you eat, dove.” He called your attention towards him instead and you turned towards him, raising an eyebrow in amusement.

Before you could even say a word, your attention was pulled into another direction, Hoseok taking your hand and spinning you towards soft chairs, making you giggle. “No, angel, come sit with me on the patio.”

Namjoon heaved a big sigh, standing in the middle of all their childishness and rubbing the brow of his nose. His feet tapped against the stone flooring of the department store as he scolded them. “Boys, please, we’re here to get lighting fixtures for the nursery, not to play house.”

“But Joonie, you can’t tell me this kitchen unit doesn’t look incredible.” Jin said, stepping out of the model kitchen display. “This color countertop would be perfect for our house, wouldn’t it?” He stepped up to Namjoon, placing a hand on his shoulder, begging with his eyes for him to agree.

Namjoon leveled him with an unimpressed look. “You try to buy a new kitchen everytime we come to IKEA. We’re here for one thing and one thing only.”

“I don’t know, I’m with Hoseok hyung on this one,” Jungkook piped up, feet propped up on the low table as he reclined on the model patio set, getting comfy on the cushions like it was his own. “I think the baby would like a comfy patio couch.”

“The baby won’t even be able to sit for like, four months.” Jimin scoffed. “Anyways, if we’re taking anything, I think it should be this rocking chair. Look at how comfy it is!” He practically melted into the chair, sinking into the soft pillows.

“We already have a rocking chair. You picked it out yourself. We don’t need another rocking chair.” Namjoon stated, trying his best to keep from going home with twenty more things the house didn’t need.

“I think we definitely need more paint.” Taehyung said, finally done messing around with the fake bathroom. “The mural we’re painting is bigger than we thought, and we’re low on forest green.”

“Alright, you guys go get more paint, and only paint, and me, Jin, and Yoongi…” Namjoon spun in a circle. “Where’s Yoongi?”

“I can go look for him,” you piped up. Immediately, the boys were shaking their heads, Jungkook motioning for you join him on the patio couch.

“You shouldn’t be doing too much walking, bunny, you’ll put too much stress on your ankles.” He chided, taking your hands and pressing kisses to your knuckles.

You stayed standing, however, rolling your eyes. “I’ll be fine. I’ve barely done any walking in the last couple months. The store isn’t that big, and I’ll sit once we get home.”

“Still, you shouldn’t go on your own.” Jimin frowned in concern, hands raising to hold your hips, one moving up to rub your belly. It hadn’t been long since you started showing but it was quickly becoming obvious. You’d been holding back on buying too many maternity clothes so early, though the boys seemed bent on buying you a whole wardrobe’s worth. The sundress you were wearing mostly concealed your bump, but your loves seemed to focus on it no matter what you wore.

“Once I find Yoongi, I won’t be alone.” You argued back playfully. You pecked him on the lips and pulled away from him while he was stunned. That was something you loved, that even after dating all these years, you could still kiss them and they would react like it was the first time. “Good luck finding light fixtures!” You chirped, practically skipping away down the aisles before they could chase after you.

You strolled down the halls, idly humming and rubbing your belly, looking at all the things being sold. It was crazy how there were so many items in each unit, it was like everything someone could ever want in a room was here. Wall mounted decorations, various rugs, you even saw small garden fountains in their outdoor section. You had to keep yourself from going and just watching the water drip, the serenity would keep you trapped for hours.

Where was Yoongi? You wondered, walking around and turning corner after corner, no sign of him. He had been very hands on in the construction of the baby’s room, so you figured the hardware or electrical sections would be his most likely location. But he wasn’t there, and considering the other boys weren’t in the lighting aisle either, you guessed they had gotten distracted again on the way there.

Giggling to yourself, you continued on. Maybe Yoongi was by the baby furniture, where the cribs and mobiles were, he had gotten pretty hands on with the crib, insisting on making one himself, but you didn’t find him there either, just more things you added to your mental wishlist.

You were quickly becoming unsure of where he was and you considered going to find the other guys and giving up, or even just calling Yoongi, but you kept going, checking one more aisle.

And there he was, by the IKEA stuffed sharks. You sighed in relief upon seeing him, shaking your head with a smile. “And I thought you were staying on task.” You teased, walking up to him.

He didn’t turn around to look at you as you walked towards him, just wrapping an arm around your waist when you stood next to him. His eyes were fixed on the plastic ones of the IKEA shark’s, as if it was telling him something telepathically.

“Do you think she would like a shark?” He said, quietly.

You smiled widely, thinking of your baby in her crib with a stuffed shark’s three times her size. “I think she would love it.” You responded just as softly, leaning your head onto his shoulder. “But then again, she’ll probably love anything until she’s about two or three. Then she’ll develop her own personality and likes and interests.”

He let out a small puff of air, a sound you had come to recognize as his way of chuckling. “When you say like that, it feels like it’ll go by so fast.” He murmured.

“It might,” You shrugged. “Or maybe it’ll be a crawl. Or a combination of both. Either way we’ll be doing it together.” You turned your face up towards him, and he turned to look at you finally, mirroring the same soft look in your eyes.

He pressed a kiss to your forehead, his hand moving to cup your stomach. “Do you think we could have one?”

“A baby? We are having one.”

“No, I know, but I mean like…” he stopped, choosing his words carefully. “One thats ours. One that looks like you and me.”

“You have a long line,” you chuckled, thinking of how the others had wanted the same thing. “Taehyung keeps saying, ’when we have a baby’ this and ‘our baby’ that. And Jin is already planning to add more rooms to the house.”

“I can wait.” He smiled, his cheeks and eyes soft.

“Then yes, I think we can have one.” You nodded, picking up a shark. “Eventually.” You tucked the shark under your arm, taking your phone to call the guys and see if they were ready to leave. Yoongi took the shark from you and held your free hand, walking you towards the front. You looked up at him and smiled, phone to your ear as you listened to the dial tone. You had been surrounded with nothing but love for so long and were soon going to share it with another loving being, one growing in your belly. Sometimes you worried you would mess up somehow.

Hoseok picked up the phone, loud laughter coming through the line as they messed around wherever in the store they were. “Everything okay, angel?” He said, immediately worring over you. Even the sound of his voice coming through the phone reassured something deep in your soul along with the laughter of your loves. You knew that no matter what you’d be fine.

Because you were with them.

Pairing: OT7 x Reader

Warnings: kidnapping, BTS not thinking situations through, Jimin being kinda creepy

“So, four of us share a soulmate?” Yoongi asked, and as the other four boys nodded, he sighed and sat back on the couch in their dressing room.

The concert was long over, giving the boys thirty minutes to get ready for the little meet and greet they have in just a few minutes now.

Namjoon is stuck in his thoughts, wracking his brain for a solution to the problem, and wondering if any solution he comes up with is the appropriate one, until he gives up.

“It’s nearly impossible to even think about what comes after this. We go back to Korea in a week, there’s nothing we can do.”

“Hyung, you’re not serious?” Jimin’s shoulders deflate slightly at the possible outcome of this situation.

“Yes, I’m serious, it’s a curse that this is how our fate is tied but We. Can’t. do. Anything.” Namjoon is stern while looking at Jimin and sits, but as each member processes his words, Jimin’s eyes brighten up and he opens his mouth to speak, but Jin beats him to it.

“Nope, no, I know what you’re all gonna say and nope, don’t even think about it.” Seokjin dismisses

He glances around the room and shakes his head at his younger members, “You can’t just kidnap someone!”

Yoongi tilts his head, “It’s not kidnapping if she’s our soulmate…”

Hoseok butts in, “…and if we already know she likes us…”

Seokjin pinches his forehead, “I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation.”

Jimin stands and walks to the other end of the room, “Hyung, we can’t just let her go. Not when we finally know who it is, not when we’re so close!”

“Jimin look, I get it. If that was my soulmate I would be feeling just as conflicted, but we need to think rationally here. Her life is here, her friends, family, school, job, everything she has, is here. Our life is in Korea, we can’t just take her and expect her to adapt to that. And what if word gets out that we kidnapped a girl? What would that do for us, our career. Shit, what would that do for her?” Jin rants, looking at the four boys in shame.

“Hyung said no, and I mean it.” Jin finishes with a strict tone so his younger members know not to ask again, diminishing any last hope his brothers had.

Jungkook and Taehyung are sitting on the couch, staying quiet. Taehyung couldn’t really believe the chaos that unfolded in just a matter of a couple hours. His hyungs finding their soulmate, finding out they share said soulmate, and now asking if they can just take her with them back to Seoul. He could almost relate to his hyungs though, knowing that if he found his soulmate here, he would everything in his power to have her move with him.

Jungkook was much the same, he was trying to process everything, but more than that, he found himself hoping that his hyungs would go through with the idea, because deep inside, he hoped she was his soulmate too. They were brothers, they shared everything, why not this?

“NO! You can’t make me!” Y/N struggles against her friend’s arms, dragging her toward the room where they’ll be meeting the boys.

Kristie groans, “Y/N, that’s enough, you’re meeting them because Jasmine’s dad didn’t spend all this money just for you to stand outside the door.”

Y/N slumps down the wall and looks at her friends guilty, feeling sorry for ruining what was supposed to be a good night.

“I’m sorry I’m roping you guys into this.”

Kristie and Jasmine sit beside their friend and grab her hands, “Hey, it’s fine, this is actually a lot more amusing than you think.”

Jasmine nods, “It might be scary now, but hey, you finally found your soulmates, you should be ecstatic. Sure, it might be a few of the BTS members, but they’re still normal guys. You’re a dime and a half Y/N, I’d be more surprised if they didn’t accept it. I know they will.”

After calming a little, Y/N smiles at her friends’ words, “I guess maybe I am overthinking it all, but it’s very overwhelming,” she slowly stands and helps her friends up as well, “It’ll be nerve-wracking as hell but, I do want to meet them.”

Kristie and Jasmine cheer and they all file into the room, one after the other, and are met with a shorter line than expected, moving to the back, and smiling politely at the fellow army.

Jimin is lost in thought as he follows his members down the hall, he was hoping to see his soulmate waiting for him in the meeting room after he saw her run out of the theatre.

He understood that it may have been overwhelming for you, but he didn’t expect you to just leave like that.

He hears excited murmuring and squeals as they approach the meeting room, and when he enters, his eyes are immediately glancing at the fans, waving, and smiling politely.

As his eyes reach the end of the line, he has to contain his excitement when he notices his string ends just on the other side of two girls, his mood lifting.

It’s another hour before he notices there’s only two more girls before he gets to properly meet you and what looks like your friends.

He looks at Namjoon, who gives him a slight thumbs up.

“Look who’s excited.” Hoseok teases his friend. Namjoon huffs a laugh and looks down, “Aren’t you?” Hoseok nods, “Of course, it’s about time we get to meet them.”

Namjoon nods knowingly, and the boys all smile for the photos, making sure to give the fans in front of them their complete attention.

As the two girls walk out of the room, the staff mention, “Last three, you can come up now girls.”

As each boy glances at them, the seven boys feel a sudden pull in their chest to the girl with blue hair, and Seokjin furrows his eyebrows in confusion at the feeling. Shaking it off as him being tired, as he pulls the tallest girl in for a slight hug.

Taehyung smiles politely and makes out a quick, “Hello, nice meeting you.”

As Taehyung is smiling at the shortest girl, he glances at her shoes, nodding along to make sure she knows he’s listening, and his eyes wander from her shoes to her friend’s shoes, and as his eyes go to flicker back to the girl in front of him, they land on her friend’s wrist, pausing at the time written on it.

He flickers to his own wrist and tenses at the fact that they’re the exact same.

He shakes his head slightly and focuses back on the conversation, he feels bad that he’s missed a bit of it, but she doesn’t seem to notice, which he’s grateful for.

As the girls move around and make conversation, Jungkook finds himself standing in front of Y/N and he bows his head slightly, “Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Jungguk.” He holds his hand out to shake and as the girl takes it, she smiles nervously, “Hello, uh my name is Y/N, it’s really nice to meet y-ow!”

Jungkook and the girl both pull back when they’re hands meet, Jungkook hissing at the pain and Y/N rubbing her palm.

“Yah, Jungguk-ah, you okay?” Hoseok asks in Korean, and the youngest nods, turning his attention to you, “You okay?”

He sees the girl nod, but she continues rubbing her palm, “I’m fine.”

Namjoon clears his throat at the weird encounter and stands beside the two, “Shall we take a picture?”

Everyone nods and Jimin immediately pulls Y/N toward him, standing her right in the middle of the group, Y/N laughs nervously and smiles for the picture, not noticing Jimin or Yoongi’s tight grip on her waist.

She’s still very nervous, not talking much at all, but the members are being sweet to her, maybe a little too sweet but none of them bring up the soulmate thing and Y/N isn’t sure anymore whether the pull in her chest is because of their ties, or her heart breaking at the thought of them not wanting her after seeing her up close.

Jimin ignored the string, Hoseok didn’t mention the hair, hiding his beneath his beanie, Yoongi didn’t say anything about his itchy wrist, and she saw that Namjoon had washed off the writing on his forearm.

Her eyes burn with tears, but she blinks them away as soon as they come, putting a smile on her face as to not bring any concern.

She notices Taehyung staring from time to time, but she ignores it as much as she can, she saw his time when she first hugged him but decided against saying anything, she couldn’t handle having yet another member as her soulmate, or more so, she couldn’t handle another member rejecting their tie.

She found she was most comfortable around Jin because there was no correlation as to them being tied together, naturally gravitating at the fact she didn’t have to worry about looking or acting a certain way.

He was making her laugh with his jokes, wanting nothing more than for her to be comfortable around him and his brothers, it was working, but either of them failed to notice the death glares shot at the pair.

“It was very nice meeting you all today, we hope to see you very soon again.” Namjoon spoke for him and his members, smiling at the three girls, who all slightly bow and return the smile, “Thank you for the great show, we hope to see you again as well.”

Y/N waves as she walks out with her friends, her hopes diminishing at the fact that none of them wanted her, or even brought it up. She can feel her eyes burn and before she leaves, she glances at Jimin once more who smirks, “We’ll see you very soon, love.”

She nods and smiles as best she can, walking out of the door and into her friend’s arms, Kristie rubbing her back and comforting her as they walk out of the theatre, Y/N sniffing quietly.

“You’ll find someone eventually Y/N, there’s a lot of people out there who don’t have a soulmate or who were, uhm…left alone…but don’t worry too much about that.” Jasmine consoled her friend as much as she could, but truthfully, she didn’t know what to do. It was rare to have a soulmate that didn’t want you, and what made this situation a little worse, Y/N already had so much love and care for hers.

“I just don’t understand why they totally ignored it, they could have at least told me they didn’t want me, instead of completely disregarding the elephant in the room.”

“They were jerks for that, but at least Jin was nice.” Kristie tried and Y/N nodded, “He really was, maybe if I had him as a soulmate, he would have been nicer. Instead of being ignored by all five of mine.”

Jasmine frowned at Y/N’s words, “Five?” Y/N nodded and looked down at her clock, “Taehyung’s clock is the other half to this one, making him my fifth soulmate.”

“…then I guess that means Jungkook is your sixth?” Y/N looked at Kristie with confusion, but her eyes followed where she was pointing, and on the inside of her right palm, written in lovely cursive, ‘Jeon Jungkook.’

Groaning loudly, she threw her head back and rubbed at her puffy eyes, “Fuck.”

“Listen, I’m fine, that was a few days ago now and I have to move on, it’s whatever.” Y/N explained to her friends, finishing up her late lunch and moving to put her plate in the sink.

“I know, but we’re just making sure everything is okay with you, but if you say everything is fine then we’ll take your word for it.” Jasmine shrugged, Y/N smiles at her friends and thanks them and all three girls startle at her phone that suddenly blares.

“Hello?” Y/N answers, hearing her boss on the other line,

hey y/n, I was wondering if you can make it in for an evening shift in like two hours? I know it’s last minute, but Hailey needed to leave, her babysitter bailed’

Y/N thought about it and decided it could take her mind off everything, so she agreed, telling the girls, and going off to get ready.

It’s been six days since the meet and greet, and Y/N was doing better honestly, she accepted her fate and didn’t want to dwell on it too much. But even she had to admit, in those times of quietness or in times of loneliness, it still hurt to know.

What made it easier for her was the call back she had gotten the day after the concert about an opening they were having at a clothing store she applied to at the mall. She stumbled upon the website when she was shopping and since summer was around the corner, she thought she’d apply. It’s where she’s been training for the past four days and although she wasn’t supposed to officially start until next week, her boss gave her an opportunity and of course, Y/N jumped at it.

Not wanting to be distracted by her thoughts anymore, Y/N took a quick shower, changing into semi comfortable clothes and brushed through her hair.

She took her time in doing some makeup and thinking about which bag she was going to take, making sure all the necessities were included, grabbing her keychain with her Mall ID and walking out of her room.

“Ready? Did you need a ride there?” Kristie asked

Y/N nodded, “Yeah that’d be great.”

“Let’s go.”

“Will you need a ride home afterwards?” Kristie asks her friend, watching her gather her things and put her hand on the door handle, “I could order an Uber, I know you have that dinner with Darren tonight.” Y/N reminds and Kristie nods

“Yeah, but if you end up needing one, just hit me up, I gotchu.” Y/N nods at her friends and words and opens the door, stepping out and turning back around to smile and wave, “See ya.” She shuts the door and walks to the side of the mall, going through the little alley and into the side door.

The hallway is quite hectic, she’s passing other workers of the mall and smiling politely, memorizing the way to the clothing store.

As she comes to the back entrance, right into the stocking room, she’s greeted by her manager, who smiles in relief upon seeing her.

“Thank god you came, we’re understaffed right now and need someone else on the till, as it starts slowing down you and Ali can slowly restock the racks and counters in front, we have a new line of clothes that are just waiting to be viewed.” Y/N nods at her words, walking at a faster pace to keep up, before coming up to the till.

Ali smiles at her to which she returns, glancing at the hands of her boss, “Here’s your password and user for the system, you’re trained on the POS already but if you have any trouble do not hesitate to walk away for some help, it’s always best to have customers wait a few seconds while you get help than to have customers wait a few minutes for you to figure it out on your own.” Once again Y/N nods and her boss leaves her to it.

She lets out a sigh at the longer than usual line and calls up her first customer.

‘here’s to my first day…’

“I can help who’s next!”

“So, where do you go to school?” Ali asks, scooping a little bit of her fro-yo and glancing at y/n

“I go to U of C; do you attend school?”

Ali nods, “I go to California State, I’m in my first year actually.” Y/N hums, “Oh okay, I remember my first year really well, I couldn’t imagine having to balance work and school though, but now this year I decided to try it out.”

“It gets hard sometimes, but it’s worth it I guess.” Both girls nod knowingly and continue to eat in silence.

“Do you guys close early if there’s no customers, or do you stay for the full shift?” y/n asked

“Sometimes we do that, but most times we like to stay for the whole shift, depends on if we have stocking to do.”

She hums and stretches her neck to see around the store, after that chaos of a line, both girls managed to get everyone satisfied with their purchases and out the store. It took about two hours to get it all sorted and as soon as the last customer left, they both collapsed on the floor, their other co-worker Gina bringing them fro-yo as a little treat.

“I think Gina is sorting through the back, I guess we could start bringing the new collection out. But first, we need to take those-” Ali points to a section of winter jackets, “-to the back, and bring out whatever she has for us.”

y/n nods and stands up, throwing her cup in the trash and making her way to the back of the store, taking out a cart and wheeling it over to the front of the store, carefully grabbing each jacket and taking it off the hanger and throwing it in the cart.

Her ears perk when she hears a couple boys laugh, glancing over and noticing three guys with masks on and some beanies. Paying them no mind, she goes back to sorting the jackets but when she looks and make eye contact with one of them, she notices him smile and slightly bow his head but before she can return it, her palm gets itchy.

Scratching it a little, y/n sees Ali walk up to the rack, “I brought this for the hangers.” She gestures at a basket and sets it down, picking up the hangers that y/n left and putting them inside.

y/n takes a chance and glances toward the man again, when she notices he’s gone, her eyes scan the stores that she can see and furrows her brows when she notices he’s completely disappeared. Shrugging it off, she goes back to her work.

It’s several hours later when the girls are double checking the store, making sure everything is in its place and nothing is out of the ordinary.

In the past few hours all three girls have put away the winter clothes, sorted through the spring and summer collections and placed them out for everyone to browse through. Shoes were placed on the rack and bikinis were folded neatly on the display tables, right down to the jewelry in front of the tills.

A few customers came in but after a while, as the mall was slowly closing, less and less of a crowd made it through, but each girl didn’t mind much.

“30 minutes until closing time, I’m going to run over to the food court for a quick bite, did you guys want anything?” Ali asked to which y/n and Gina shook their heads.

As she walked out, Gina’s phone rang, and she went to the back to open it.

y/n shrugged as she was left on her own, but her ears perked up when she heard someone come in, she gently smiled at the younger male, although you can’t really see it under her mask, and she waited at the till for them to browse.

y/n enjoyed her first day at work, which she didn’t expect, it was hectic at first but once she got used to the busy atmosphere, she found herself feeling happy that she was given this opportunity.

She rang up the customer as his eyes looked around the store, his gaze flitting to the back and to the front, and he grabs some hairpins that were displayed on the counter, “for my young niece, she’s only five but she’s learning to do her own hair already.” He explains, earning a gentle nod from y/n.

y/n tried her best to converse with her customer, wanting to waste these last few minutes of her shift, and once she bagged the man’s items, she sent him on his way, walking behind him to the front and pulling out the storefront gate and sliding it shut, making sure to leave a little space for Ali to walk in.

Gina comes back in from the back, already dressed and texting on her phone, “You were given keys, right?” y/n nods and pulls them out of her pocket.

“Okay good, Ali usually exits out the front and I lock up in the back, but my mom just called and she needs me to watch my younger brother, I have to be there in like ten minutes, you don’t mind locking up through the back today, would you?”

Y/N shakes her head, “No, no, that’s totally fine.”

Gina sighs in relief, “Thank you so much, I’ll see you on your next shift, good night!” y/n returns her words with a smile and wave before once again, making sure all the clothes are in place and her till is turned off, taking the money out, and walking to the back room.

She’s in the process of counting when she sees through the cameras that Ali is back, seeing her setting her food down and grabbing her till as well before walking in the back, her figure appearing in the room just a moment later.

“Gina had to leave early, so I’ll be locking through the back.” She explains, Ali nods, “Sounds good.”

They made small talk and put their till and the extra money in the safe, grabbing their things and going back out to the front.

“Well, I’ll see you on your next shift, hopefully that’s soon.” Ali speaks, she turns to see y/n nod, “I hope so, today wasn’t bad, I enjoyed it.” Ali quickly agrees, “It’s one of the best, although on bad days, that could seem like a lie,” she giggles, “but I’ll see you, have a good night.”

“Night.”

Ali shrugs out of the store, shutting and locking the gate, and marches toward the exit.

y/n pulls out her phone and orders an Uber, signalling that it will be here in the next 5 minutes, before grabbing her bag and closing the store lights.

She shuts the door behind her and locks it before making her way down the hallway, seeming much quieter now that most of the other employees are gone, and steps outside, seeing a black suv parked outside.

She makes sure to see the Uber sign before opening the door, “Is this for y/n?” the driver nods and she gets in, shutting the door and leaning into the soft seat.

As the driver pulls away, y/n turns her head to the side and out of the corner of her eye she notices movement in the backseat.

Startled, she goes to look behind her but the figure leans forward and places his hands arms, pulling her into the seat.

Y/N shrieks and leans forward, “No, stop!”

Another set of hands place themselves on her eyes, and she doesn’t see the figure grab the cloth in his lap, just feels the fabric over her mouth and taking a deep breathe in.

She fights for a bit before going completely limp, falling into the seat.

Both figures take off their beanies and masks, the first one flicking her head, “Did it work?”

“Of course, it worked, dummy.” Namjoon pushes his younger member’s shoulders

“Well, I don’t know, we haven’t exactly done this before hyung” Jungkook argues

“He’s got a point.” Yoongi speaks from the driver’s seat, he glances at the girl on the seat before looking at his members, “Now what?”

“What do you mean?” Jungkook asks, and Yoongi furrows his brows, “Don’t tell me you didn’t NOT think about what happens after this?”

Jungkook shrugs, “I came up with the first part, I thought you guys would have contributed a little.”

“Contributed?! Why would we-” Namjoon stops himself from shouting and sighs, pinching his nose bridge

“You did WHAT? After I specifically told you NOT to?!” Jin shouts as he paces the room, all three of his friends sitting on the floor, and an unconscious girl laying sprawled on the couch

“We leave in one hour; how do you expect us to-I mean how did you even-oh my gosh.” Jin is almost panicking, having no clue at all how to fix this.

“Even if we did send her home, she’d wake up confused and scared as hell that something happened to her, but we just can’t take her either, and we sure as hell can’t exactly wait until she wakes up!” He explains to his members

“What’s with all the shouting?” Their heads snap at the door being opened and the other three members walking in, Jimin immediately perking up, “You actually, did it??” Jin glares at him and he clears his throat, “I-I mean, shame on you guys, this is…bad.”

Jungkook huffs, “It was your idea too Jimin!”

Jin crosses his arms and looks pointedly at Jimin, who throws his arms up exasperatedly, “Okay, and?? So, I helped a little, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that she’s here…with us…with me.” He walks over to y/n’s sleeping form and smiles to himself

“C’mon hyung, she’s our soulmate, you can’t just expect us to leave her!” Hobi whines and Jin feels like screaming into a pillow.

Taehyung pipes in, staring at his clock, “If she’s tied with all of us, who’s to say she isn’t tied to you too?”

Jin pauses and glances at the girl, there’s a chance, but a slim one.

He sighs heavily, “Okay, fine, here’s the plan…”

Anomalous Fate - String Theory

Hey everyone, i’m back ! This is Chapter two (finally!) It’s more so a filler chapter bc i just want to get to the concert already, and continue from there, but still a good read i hope.

Obviously as the story goes on, hopefully i will be getting better at writing it and filling in some spots. But i hope you enjoy this chapter!

Warnings: sort of?yandere!bts, mentions of saseangs

After news broke out that BTS would be in L.A all week due to their nominations in the American Music Awards and the concerts, practically everyone was talking about it and all three friends were buzzing at the fact that the tannies were in their city.

It was four days before the concert, and the girls were out shopping, having a bit of girl time before they each get busy with final exams coming up.

Jasmine’s scrolling through twitter when she sees that BTS are actually doing package deals for the concert and her eyes widen at the opportunity. She thinks for a second before turning toward her friends, “Did you guys want to meet them, like actually meet them? Because they’re also doing the packages for those who are vaccinated, they just announced it, and my dad could get them for us if they’re not sold out.”

Y/N stuttered in her steps and her shoulders tensed at the news.

Of course, she wanted to meet them, but at the same time, meeting them would mean confirming whether J-Hope was her soulmate or not, and honestly what would happen if he was? She knew if he wasn’t she would just go about her life the way she was, albeit a little disappointed.

However, she was more nervous if it was the opposite. If he was her soulmate, what did that mean for the both of them? He lives in Korea; her whole life is here, not to mention how young she really was. And come to think of it, even if it wasn’t J-Hope, her soulmate would still be from Korea. How would that even work?

Y/N hadn’t really thought much of it until now, when you meet your soulmate, aren’t you supposed to be together? If her soulmate lived across the world, would they move with her or would they want her to move with them?

Kristie interrupted her thoughts when she jumped excitedly, “Actually get to meet and speak to them? Of course, I want to!”

Y/N shook her head a little and nodded nonetheless, “They’re BTS, who wouldn’t want to meet them?”

Jasmine smiled at her friends’ excitement and ran off to phone her dad.

“So, are you excited?” Kristie teases, and Y/N shrugs, “It’s hard not be delulu about it, but I’m trying to remember that whatever happens, happens. It’d definitely be a huge deal if he was, but even if he’s not, that’s okay too.” Kristie nods at her friends’ words, “If it helps some, I think there’s a pretty big chance that he is, but we won’t know until…four days from now.”

Kristie had a strong feeling about J-Hope, and since finding her soulmate, you could say she just knewwhen people are meant to be, as they show the same signs she did before she found hers. All she ever wanted for her two friends is happiness, and she was determined on making sure they were, every single day. She was the oldest amongst the trio, born a few months before Y/N and Jasmine, with Jasmine being the youngest, so it came naturally to her to sort of play the big sister role in their lives.

Jasmine was much of the same, despite being the youngest, she loved to care for her friends and show her appreciation in any way she could. That’s why she asked if the packages were a good idea, she too had wanted Y/N to find her answer, and what better way than to meet him? Even if he wasn’t Y/N’s soulmate, they would be super grateful to get to talk to BTS and be able to hug them and just tell them how much they mean to the trio. It was going to be a win either way.

With that in mind, the girls were shopping for the rest of the day and ended with going home with more bags than they could carry.

When they reached their shared apartment, Jasmine told the girls that her dad was able to get three full VIP packages, and to celebrate, they bought some wine and listened to music as they sorted through what they had bought that day.

“I don’t know if I want to wear pink or purple to the concert.” Jasmine held up two shirts toward the girls, and as they all pondered over the two, Y/N felt a tug on her pinky, and she looked down to see it wriggling. It happened often, sometimes during class or grocery shopping, it wriggled a little bit, but not too hard. She wondered if they were exercising or something of the sort, and she felt her nose scrunch in disgust when she thought of her soulmate doing something that wasn’t PG-13.

After dinner, the trio went their separate ways and Y/N found herself lying in bed and thinking about the soulmate situation again. She hasn’t thought about it this much before, and she blames it on the concert coming up. She toys with the string around her pinky, swirling it around her wrist, and then back the other way. Her eyes follow it as it lines toward her door, but then disappears into thin air, the only time she will actually be able to see it and how long it is, is when she is in close proximity to her soulmate.

She wonders why the universe gave her a soulmate that lives across the world, and not just next door or something. It would have made things a lot easier, because now, here she is, in her bathtub, questioning whether a celebrity is her soulmate, like a freaking delulu.

She huffs at the incessant thoughts and changes her clothes before trying to fall asleep.

As soon as Y/N wakes up, she goes to the calendar on her desk and marks off the day, showing only today, and tomorrow left until the concert. Y/N and her friends haven’t been up to much lately, mostly getting outfits ready for the concert, and preparing for the exams that are coming up, but she couldn’t contain her excitement as each day passed.

The first concert was going to be held at the YouTube Theatre, and it’s a generally small building meaning the setting will be a little intimate, but the next day BTS will be performing at SoFi stadium, before going back to Korea. BTS had explained that to start off the two concerts, they wanted to be a little closer to ARMY, seeing as it’s been two years since they’ve seen them, which is why they chose the theatre, but to give other ARMY a chance, they will also be going to the stadium.

Seeing as the tickets weren’t as expensive at the theatre, she chose the first show and got three seats in the third row, a little bit to the right of the stage. Her nerves were through the roof since this would be the first time Y/N and her friends would be seeing BTS in person, ever. In all her years of being a fan, she’s not once seen them in real life.

Jasmine and Kristie were out with their lovers, having a bit of one-on-one time since they haven’t been able to in the past few days. Y/N walked out of her room and grabbed some juice from the fridge, pouring herself a glass and thinking about what her plans for the day were. She knew she had to continue studying but she also needed to eat, so with that thought, she moves back to her room to change and gathers her laptop, putting her textbooks into her bag before grabbing her apartment keys and heading out.

She opts for staying at a nearby café, seeing as it’s not a far walk, picking a table near the window and pulling out her books. She finds the café quiet, and it’s a perfect spot for her to focus without any distractions.

“America always has the best breakfast.” Jungkook speaks and his hyungs nod in agreement.

“So, did you guys want to do some shopping or just head back to the hotel?” Namjoon asks them and they all think about it

“Jin hyung and I will probably head back..” Yoongi informs, and Joon nods and looks toward the maknae line, knowing they’d like to walk around a little bit more, “I’ll stay with you guys.”

J-Hope nods as well, “Yeah, I’ll stay here too.”

All seven men part, and soon the five of them are walking around the area, bodyguards around them just in case, until Taehyung sees a nice little clothing store, “Can we go in here?”

As they’re all walking in, Jimin feels his pinky being tugged at and when he looks down, his eyes widen when he sees that the string has extended completely, allowing him to see where it goes. His line of vision follows the string, and he finds himself moving with it.

He’s quick on his feet, the possibility of finally meeting is soulmate, heavy on his mind.

J-Hope glances at a funky hat before turning to show Jimin with a smile, knowing he’d probably buy it, but frowns instantly when he notices he’s not with them.

“Where’s Jiminie?” He taps Joon on the shoulder, both men glance around and Namjoon immediately takes action upon not seeing him anywhere in the store, having two bodyguards follow him out the door. He has J-Hope stay with the maknae line and jogs out with the two men.

Jimin on the other hand is already half a block down, moving closer and closer, and he sees that his string has moved to the left, inside what looks like a café on the other side of the street, right across from him. Jimin looks and spots the crosswalk, and it’s a bit far, but nonetheless jogs toward it, anxiously waiting for the light to change.

“Jimin-ssi!” He hears and he turns to see one of his bodyguards jogging his way over, he sighs looks back at the café, about to start pleading that they allow him to cross, when he sees Namjoon with a slightly disappointed look in his eyes and he knows that he has no chance.

His shoulders sag in defeat and he walks up to his older member, ready to apologize and explain but Namjoon just wraps his arm around him and quietly mumbles, “Let’s go.”

The hyung line all gather around, with Jungkook and Taehyung sitting on the side, at the edge of Jin’s bed, and Jimin sitting on the couch, with his head down, playing with the fabric of his jeans.

“I just wanted to see if my soulmate was in there.” He whispers, and Yoongi is the first to speak, “Jimin-ssi, we all want to meet our soulmate someday, and we understand how excited you might have been. But you can’t just run off like that, especially in America, and especially without anybody with you. It’s dangerous.” Jimin nods at his words.

“We’re not mad, we were just worried, anything could have happened. You could have been mobbed, paparazzi could have spotted you, there might even be sasaengs around here.” J-Hope walks up and puts a hand on his younger’s back, “Just, next time be careful, and ask for someone to go with you.”

Jimin sniffs and nods once more, looking up at his hyungs, “I swear though I didn’t really mean to walk off, I just saw my string and followed it. I didn’t know how far I had gone until you called for me. I’m sorry.” He really didn’t mean to; he wasn’t aware of his actions, and he hoped his members would see that he genuinely didn’t mean to cause them any stress or worry.

All boys nod this time, and the older members, sit on the couches, Jin and Hobi sitting on each side of Jimin. “It’s alright now, as long as you’re safe.”

“You’ve been studying all morning, come have lunch with us.” Kristie’s voice comes through the phone, and Y/N shakes her head, “I can’t, I’m almost done with this textbook, I just need a few more notes. I’ll come to dinner anyways.” She hears mumbling on the other end until Kristie talks, “If you’re not coming to us, we’re coming to you.” Y/N furrows her eyebrows, “You don’t even know where I am.” This time, she hears Jasmine’s voice yell, “Snapchat bitch!”

Scoffing in disbelief, she hides her smile and rolls her eyes, “Fine, fine. See you soon,” She knows the other two are smirking at the fact they won, “See ya.”

Y/N looks at the time and her eyes widen when she realizes how long she’s been here, and as if on cue, her stomach rumbles, mentally thanking her friends for the phone call, knowing it’s best if she were to meet with her friends now. As she taps her pen against her table, she notices her pinky string was longer than it usually is, but when she follows the line, it’s fading away, and she freezes.

Her soulmate was close to her, and she didn’t even know, she scoffs at herself incredulously, so much for a meet cute, she couldn’t look up from her books for one second to check her surroundings.

Y/N begins to put her things away, keeping her laptop open for her music, and just as promised, her friends show up to the café hurriedly, “Oh my gosh, did you hear?” Jasmine whispered frantically, and Y/N shakes her head, “What?” her friend looks around before leaning in, “Not many people know, but BTS were shopping around here like fifteen minutes ago.” Y/N blinks, “How do you know that?” Jasmine shrugs, “Twitter.” All girls nod and Y/N debates on telling them about her string, but decides to keep it to herself for now, not wanting to get into a discussion of how a BTS member is her soulmate and possibly be labeled as a saseang in this café.

“Where should we eat then?” Jasmine asks, sipping on Y/N’s, now warm, juice. Y/N stares at her and playfully glares, “That’s my juice.”

Namjoon sighs and collapses on his bed, he’s reaching for his phone that won’t stop buzzing and holds it above his face, reading the message from Jin until he feels his arm start to itch.

He scratches it over and over but when it doesn’t go away, he swears, “What is…” He pauses and his eyes are wide, watching as a little heart is drawn on it, then a smiley face, then the BTS logo.

He sits here in confusion, wondering what the hell just happened until he’s frantically searching for his phone for some answers, scratching his arm in the process.

“Alright stop, that tickles…” Y/N squirms from her friends grasp and giggles, looking to see the little drawings on her arm, “very mature”

All three girls were sitting in their living room, nail polish and foot baths surrounding them, after the long day they decided to have a little self-care time which included face masks, hair masks, foot baths, pedicures, and movies.

“I can’t believe we’re going to see BTS.” Jasmine smiles and her friends nod their heads, Y/N scratches at her arm but pays it no mind, “I honestly can’t wait, it’s going to be so fun.”

“It’s a little last minute, but let’s be real, last-minute plans are the best.” Kristie pipes up, putting white polish on her toes

The itch is incessant now and y/n can’t ignore it, “geez, what’s in that ink you used? My arm is on fire-what the fuck?” she shrieks, and Kristie and Jasmine heads snap up, “What’s wrong?”

“What happened?”

“My arm! There’s drawings popping up!” As each girl inspects the doodles, they’re sorta relieved to only find stars and smiley faces, and not…..anything else.

“That’s so weird.” Jasmine whispers, meanwhile, Kristie is googling it on her phone, letting out an excited squeal when she finds a page, “It’s a tie!”

“Another one?” y/n lets out exasperatedly, Kristie nods, “It says that wherever you or your soulmate write on yourselves, it will appear in the same place on your soulmate, it lasts until one of you washes it off.”

“Say hi!” Jasmine pushes and gives y/n the marker, y/n huffs and takes it from her, opening the cap and writing down a small, “hi :)”

They wait a little until a little “hello” comes back and just before she can respond, another one comes in, “I think this is a tie.”

She nods, cheeks turning red when she remembers he can’t see her, she thinks about it before writing down, “I think so too, it’s my first time seeing.”

This goes on for an hour or so, not really learning about each other, but just talking about anything and everything. How bright the sun was today, how there was a nice breeze yesterday.

She’s completely unaware of the idol that sits on his hotel bed but a few hours away, smiling to himself and writing on his own arm.

Both looking like idiots, but fools somewhat already in love.

However, she doesn’t think twice about the letters that are written in English, she doesn’t think for a second about how Hobi isn’t fluent, she doesn’t think about any of that, all that mattered to her as she wrote back and forth, was that she really enjoyed talking with her soulmate, whoever it may be.

+bonus:

“Hyung…” Jungkook murmurs from beside Jin, who looks at his dongsaeng in question, “Do you think I’ll ever have an experience like Jimin-hyung?” Jungkook is timid when asking his question, indicating that it’s been on his mind heavy, but too nervous to get the answer.

Jin sighs at his youngest member’s words, not wanting to hurt him but also wanting to tell him the truth,

“If I’m being honest, I don’t know. I don’t know if you have a soulmate tie, none of us do. Jimin can see his, which is why it’s easier for him to find his soulmate. But, even if you don’t ever find yours, you will find someone who will love you all the same. There’s a lot of people who haven’t found theirs, that have found love elsewhere, I’m sure the universe has something in store for you either way.”

Jungkook thinks over what Jin had told him, his brows furrowing in focus, but Jin can see tears gather in his eyes, pulling Jungkook in for a hug, “Chin up little one, you’ll be just fine.”

Yoongi walks into the living room to see his two members cuddled up, seeing tears on Jungkook’s cheeks, and he places a hand on his shoulder as he walks by to sit across from them, “What’s up?”

“Someone isn’t feeling too good about this soulmate thing.” Jin explains, Yoongi nods slowly, “Yah, Jungkook-ssi, why don’t you research what kind of different ties there are?”

Jungkook sniffs, “I tried that, I don’t have any of those ones, at least the common ones. Rare ties have a very little chance of developing if there’s none in your family, and mine all have common ties.”

“Don’t get discouraged, it’s also very rare to not have a tie, only 0.1% of the population don’t have one.” Yoongi tries, Jungkook’s eyes widen, and he bursts into tears, “That’s still 800,000 people, and I could be one of them.”

Both the older men wince at their mistake, and Jin continues to console him, “Shh, it’s okay, he’s not correct in that calculation…”

Jin shoots Yoongi a look that says, ‘look what you did,’ and Yoongi throws his head back and rubs at his face tiredly.
