The Argents shared a tense look with each other but appeared to know that, in this instance, there was nothing they could do. Without Allison knowing about the supernatural, there was no reason for them to try and cut Kayla out of Allison’s life.
“Glad we agree” she continued, pointing to the stairs, “can I go up now? Or do I need a special password?”
Chris clenched his jaw but side stepped out of her way, his clear blue eyes still suspicious.
“I’ll be keeping a close eye on you”
“Not too close though” she joked, “I am sixteen, that could get you landed in jail”
His irritation sky rocketed at her witty quips, obviously trying to hold back completely losing it but by that point she was already halfway up the stairs, giving him a little sarcastic wave.
