Road Trip Day 3
Alley Spring was the most adorable spring of my trip. The restored red house has a little visitor area. (I thought they were selling snow cones but they were not.)
The bluffs of Echo Bluff State Park are impressive. The luxurious digs are even more impressive. Maybe next year fancy cabins…
To top it all off this area of Missouri has ferral horses. Iknowright. We did not get to see them but, butt… they crap all over the fancy cabin’s playgrounds and trails.

DAY1
At 9200 frozen feet Zapata Falls is worth the moderately rugged but short hike. Snowmelt from the mountains creates the waterfall. I’m not sure if crawling on the ice to reach it was more or less difficult than (alternatively) having to wade through a torrid stream…but that’s what I did…I crawled on a lot of ice.

“Are those mountains like, 5 or 50 miles away?”
“They’re like 10.”
