The Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run
State: Florida
- As you enjoy the swift current of three to four miles an hour and sneak up on otters, bears and deer. You might even get a glimpse of a monkey that’s right they have been spotted from time to time
- one of the few remaining near-pristine riverine systems in central Florida

Road Trip Day 3
Alley Spring was the most adorable spring of my trip. The restored red house has a little visitor area. (I thought they were selling snow cones but they were not.)
The bluffs of Echo Bluff State Park are impressive. The luxurious digs are even more impressive. Maybe next year fancy cabins…
To top it all off this area of Missouri has ferral horses. Iknowright. We did not get to see them but, butt… they crap all over the fancy cabin’s playgrounds and trails.
Ha_la_ri_ous signs of nature.

Road Trip Day 2
Uuuh yep, forgot to post the rest of the Shangri-La fall photos from my spring tour…behold Big Spring near Van Buren, MO. Sadly you can’t swim in this bit, but if you’re very hardy there is public river access just a few blocks down the road where you can take a dip. I made it up to my ankels.
The spring head is a noisy monster. It spews out about 286 million gallons of super chilly water per day.
