OUTFIT | VANESSA MORIN BOMBER

Style is about expressing individualism and it obviously needs a good amount of charisma in addition to be perfected! One of the main things that I started to evolve over the past years is a certain curiosity while approaching new clothes. So no doubt that seeing and touching new materials and designs is like heaven to me and makes me act like a kid in candyland again. The fashion interest crowd amoung you might know what I’m talking about. You all experienced the same feeling when putting on pieces from your favorite brand for the first time - just crazy! That feeling even doubles when the designer is a great friend of yours - like in this case. I met Vanessa 18 month ago in Berlin and I always admired her work. She’s an Esmod graduate, worked for Damir Doma and founded her own label VANESSAMORIN back in 2012. Ultimately it’s fair enough to say that she’s a talented young woman full of avantgardistic skills, who unfortunately just does womenswear. But in a world full of unisex fashion, we found a way to hook me up with one of her pieces: The Vanessa Morin bomber - A loose fitted jacket embroidered tone on tone in the back. Pretty iconic if you ask me!

Style = Individualität. Gepaart mit der richtigen Mischung aus Charisma und Personality sticht man wohl bemerkt aus der Masse heraus. Eine Eigenschaft, die man sich sogar bis zu einem bestimmten Punkt aneignen kann. Über die letzten Jahre habe ich viel über Mode gelernt und was als Leidenschaft begann, wurde zum Beruf. Im Mittelpunkt hierbei mein persönlicher Zugang zu verschiedenen Styles, Materialien, Outfits und Designs. Die kreativen Köpfe hinter den Entwürfen kennen zu lernen ist in diesem Fall eines der Highlights meines Aufgabenbereichs… So auch in diesem Fall. Vanessa und ich lernten uns vor 18 Monaten in Berlin kennen. Die junge Esmod Absolventin arbeitete für Damir Doma, bevor sie 2012 ihr eigenes Label VANESSAMORIN gründete. Auf dem Papier werden ausschliesslich Damenteile designt, was jedoch nicht heisst, dass das ein oder andere Teil nicht auch für die Männerwelt geeignet ist: ‘Unisex clothes’ wäre hier das Stichwort und taucht dieses Mal in Form einer loose fitted Bomberjacke aus verschiedenen Materialien und Schwarztönen - Inklusive Statement Stickerei auf der Rückseite auf. Sweat the look… Almost forgot how comfortable it is to walk around and wear nothing but sweat clothes. OUTFIT | DELIKATESSEN

Time to present you guys one of my favorite combos these days: Hooded sweater, wool coat and some ripped jeans. Probably the easiest way to keep yourself warm, comfy and stylish these days. Huge thanks to the lovely Sophie from  WE BANDITS at this point. She not only introduced me to the dutch brandDelikatessen with this coat, but also gave it to me as an early christmas present! Those of you seeing me from time to time, might have noticed that I’m definitely proud to wear this masterpiece. But let’s also talk about these sneakers! I bought this winter boot version of the Roshe Run back in the US, while visiting Dover Street Market on my last day in New York. They’re super light and fur-lined at the inside… Happy to have them!

Meine persönlicher Stil besteht wie so vieles im Leben aus Phasen. Einen Look, den ich derzeit besonders feier, ist dieser: Hoodie, Wollmantel und destroyed Jeans. Eine Kombo, die bequem ist, stylisch aussieht und bei diesen Temperaturen warm hält. Dass dieser Mantel von Delikatessen dabei das Highlight ist, liegt auf der Hand. Dass ich ihn überhaupt besitze habe ich der liebenswerten Sophie von WE BANDITS zu verdanken. Sie hat mir das holländische Label nicht nur vorgestellt, sondern aus diesem Mantel gleich ein kleines (oder großes) Vorweihnachtsgeschenk gemacht… Wer mich des Öfteren sieht, weiß mit welcher Freude ich ihn trage. Aber kommen wir noch kurz zu einer meiner Shopping-Errungenschaften aus New York. Ich habe mir diese Roshe Run Winter Boots am letzten Tag meines Trips gegönnt. Ort des Verbrechens: Dover Street Market.

OUTFIT | DIESEL WATCH

Another cooperation with my friends from Diesel, who invited me and my buddies Raphael and Philippe to lunch last week. We had the chance to get some early insights into the new Diesel watches collection, that came out with a series of TV commercials (you can see one of them below).  Of course we also couldn’t resist to style these beauties with our outfits. You see me wearing an all black model matching my look that day. Scroll down to get it!

Eine weitere Kooperation mit meinen Amigos von Diesel stand an. Gemeinsam mit Raphael und Philippe durfte ich während eines entspannten Lunch die neue Uhren Kollektion von Diesel begutachten. Passend dazu launchte Diesel zudem eine neue TV Spot Kampagne, die aus mehreren kurzen Trailern besteht (einen findet ihr weiter unten). Natürlich zog es uns schnell nach draussen, um die neuen Schätze in Szene zu setzen. All black Outfit hiess bei mir dann natürlich auch all black Uhr.

OUTFIT | LUMBERJACK

Earlier this month i travelled home to Berlin to shoot for the upcoming beauty magazine of JACKS beauty department alongside other big bloggers. The shoot took place inside and while each of us waited for his turn, we had the chance to go outside and take some street style pictures with photographer Jana Van De Boldt. Jades24 provided us with some clothes for this occasion and i chose to wear this red lumberjack jacket by Dsquared24 - Cosy! And by the way: My magazine shot is awesome!

Anfang des Monats bin ich für einen Tag nach Berlin gereist, um mit einigen anderen Bloggergrößen für die neue Ausgabe des Beauty Magazines vom JACKS beauty department zu shooten. Um die elende Warterei im Studio zu verkürzen, durfte jeder von uns noch an die frische Luft und mit Fotografin Jana Van de Boldt ein paar Street Styles schießen. Das Styling hierfür stellten meine Freunde von Jades24, die mich in diese Lumberjack Jacke von Dsquared steckten - Schaut gut aus!

MATCHA AFFAIRS

I recently had a discussion about the definition of “Lifestyle” with a friend of mine. Definitely not easy to define but after ripping the word apart we ended up with the conclusion that it’s basically anything that makes our life more stylish. May it be cars, fashion, nice hotels or, like in this case, drinks. But what makes a drink stylish? One key factor is to provide customers with healthy ingredients. And another one is to come up with a catchy design - and that’s where I come into play. Carpe Diem challenged me to create an outfit based on their newest product: The Matcha Green Tea. The result is an everyday look based on the bottle’s color range - Uncomplicated and easy to wear.

Wer mich kennt, weiß das Gespräche mit mir über Mode oder Lifestyle des Öfteren ausarten können und mir nichts, dir nichts sehr lang und tiefgreifend werden können. So auch letztens geschehen beim Versuch den Begriff “Lifestyle” auseinanderzunehmen. Fazit: Alles was unser Leben in irgendeiner Form stylish macht, verdient ein Lifestyle-Siegel. Ob es sich dabei um Autos, Fashion, schicke Hotels oder, wir in diesem Fall um Drinks handelt, ist vollkommen egal. Wie stylisch ein Drink am Ende des Tages sein kann, beweist Carpe Diem und lancierte vor Kurzem seinen neuen Matcha Green Tea. Designtechnisch bleibt die Marke sich dabei treu, was mir die Challenge ein Outfit rund um den Drink zu stylen deutlich erleichtert hat. Herausgekommen ist ein lässiger Alltagslook, angelehnt an die Farben der Flasche - Unkompliziert und easy nachzustylen.

NEVADA FEELING

Honestly, who would have thought that you could find a place in Vienna that gives you the brief feeling of standing in the middle of a desert state. An endless view with sunshine and a warm breeze blowing. It couldn’t get much better… Now back to reality! This is not Nevada. In fact we climbed the rooftop of Austrias biggest Shopping Mall (known as SCS) to get these amazing shots. But unlike the average americans, we decided to make these moves with style. So I pulled off a look that some of you might call dapper or elegant. At the end of the day it’s just an extraordinary option of how to style a suit during summer time. All pieces available at SCS.

Wer hätte das gedacht?! Am Rande von Wien eine Location zu finden, die uns für einen kurzen Moment das Gefühl gibt in einem fernen Wüstenstaat zu leben. Sonne, Wind und ein endloser Blick in die Ferne… Irgendwie ein Stück weit Nevada. Nur eben mit weitaus mehr Modebewusstsein als es der durchschnittliche Amerikaner gewohnt ist. Um an diesen filmreifen Ort zu gelangen, mussten wir das Dach der SCS besteigen, vielmehr bekannt als Österreichs größte Shopping Mall. Mit im Gepäck: Ein Outfit, das förmlich nach Sommer schreit! Zusammengewürfelt aus den Wänden von Van Graaf,StrellsonundStrandmeister. Alles zu finden in der SCS!

DIGITAL ARMY

Diesel calls out his digital army and provides the new generation of fashion lovers with some fresh military styles. Nothing groundbreaking about that, but the fact that the italian brand choses red and blue graphic patterns to upgrade their pieces is pretty innovative. And much better than flooding the market with yet another range of camouflage prints. Although one thing remains: When in doubt, wear khaki. 

Diesel’s digitale Armee ist auf dem Vormarsch! Passend dazu dürfen sich Modeliebhaber auf neue Military Styles des italienischen Labels freuen. Die sind zum Glück nicht mehr übertrieben camo-verseucht, sondern werden diese Saison mit innovativen graphic Designs gepimpt. Stiltechnisch bleibt eine Regel bestehen: Khaki geht immer!

TRAVEL WITH STYLE | SAMSONITE

London - Milan - Berlin - Paris… My schedule for the past men’s fashion tour was tight but I have to admit that travelling is more than the seeing of sights to me. There is something special about waking up in new cities, meeting new people and experiencing things you’ve only heard of before. For this very special trip I teamed up with Samsonite, who hooked me up with their Neopulse suitcase. A lightweight spinner that is strong enough to stash all my precious goods. Most important thing: It looks good. Definitely a stylish way to carry his stuff.

London - Milan - Berlin - Paris… 4 Städte in vier Wochen standen im Januar zu den alljährlichen Männermodewochen auf dem Programm. Anstrengend, aber auch mehr als bereichernd wenn man bedenkt dass es auch irgendwie etwas magisches hat jeden dritten Tag in einer anderen Stadt aufzuwachen - Unterstützt wurde ich auf meinem Tripp von Samsonite, die mich ganz zufälligerweise passend zum Thema Travel ihrem Neopulse Koffer ausstatteten. Ein leichter, aber robuster Begleiter, der vor allem eines kann: gut aussehen!… Reisen mit Stil!

LONDON COLLECTIONS MEN | DAY 1

Believe it or not, It has been my first time ever in London and I have to admit that I chose quite a good time to do it: London Collections Men! That’s where the crazy menswear fashion week circus begins. The city is known for pushing young designers, but is also the proud home of some established fashion houses like Alexander McQueen, Burberry or Moschino. Lucky enough we found a great flat in Shoreditch, where you could literally feel the vibe when stepping outside the door - Street art, bars, cool people… You had it all! We started day 1 with the AW16 runway show of Tiger of Sweden, that has been hosted at a great gallery space in Marylebone, North-West London. From there we moved further to visit the showroom of Mounir Ghazi, a good friend of mine who presented his first collection. At this point I also met Tino Kamal, aspiring UK rapper and one of the craziest dudes I‘ve met in a long time. Just gotta love his energy and first and foremost his look. Don’t worry, I might post a portrait of him in a couple of weeks! Showroom hopping continued at the Mr. Porter Showroom, where six hot brands from Japan were spotlighted. Among them, I totally had a crush on Aloye’s graphic tee collection, that was simple but significant. Quick note on my outfit: It was all about leather and a bright red sweater from Diesel’s SS16 collection.

Ob ihr es glaubt oder nicht, es war mein erster Trip nach London und der Zeitpunkt hätte kein besserer sein können: Die London Collections Men stand auf dem Program! Sie ist gleichzeitig nicht nur für mich der Startschuss der alljährlichen Fashion Week Tour. Die Londoner Männermodewoche ist bekannt dafür junge Designer zu supporten, gleichzeitig ist sie jedoch auch Heimat etablierter Modehäuser wie Alexander McQueen, Burberry oder Moschino. Wir schlugen unser Quartier in Shoreditch auf, einem dynamischen Viertel dem es an nichts fehlt: Street Art, Bars, Clubs und coole Leute wo das Auge hinreicht. Tag 1 startete mit der HW16 Show von Tiger of Sweden, die in einer Fabrik-ähnlichen Gallerie in Marylebone stattfand. Von da aus machten wir uns auf den Weg zu meinem Kumpel Mounir Ghazi, der in zentraler Lage seine Debütkollektion präsentierte. In diesem Zusammenhang traf ich auch Timo Kamal, aufstrebender UK Rapper, der durch seine Energie und vor allem durch seinen Look heraus stach. Ihr werdet mit Sicherheit in einigen Wochen ein Portrait von ihm auf meinem Blog finden. Das Showroom Hopping ging bei Mr. Porter weiter, dem wohl bekanntesten Online Retailer Englands. Sechs junge Brands aus Japan hatten dort die Chance ihre Kollektionen auszustellen. Mit seinen simplen, jedoch hochwertigen Shirts hat mich Aloye dort mehr als beeindruckt und stach wohl verdient aus der Masse heraus. Last but not least noch eine kurze Notiz zu meinem Outfit: Leder + roter Sweater aus der SS16 Kollektion von Diesel.
