Anidala week 2020: day seven ≡ free day AU: Unbeknownst to all but the highest ranking leaders in the Rebellion against the Empire, Imperial Senator Padme Amidala was the head of the Coursanti spy ring where she worked relentlessly to supply the Rebellion with intelligence, Darth Vader, vexed with the Rebellion’s recent victories is determined to bring their agents to Imperial Justice. Neither are aware that their paths will lead them to each other and committing treason. The treason? Falling in love.
I do think a big reason why Darth Vader is so mad at Obi-Wan, isn’t just because of his physical injuries. It’s also because he’s suffered every day with the haunting memory of losing Padme. Even though he’s responsible, he blames Obi-Wan for that loss. The anger in him is palpable.
“Padme is a very strong-willed person, you know. [Anakin]’s not so much attracted to the power that she holds in her political arenas, but rather the power and strength that she holds within herself.”
I’m not immune to indulging in the occasional, happy-ending AU for the Skywalkers.
It’s bring your kid to work day! Of course, Padme commissioned matching outfits for her twins. I like to imagine that a post-Jedi Anakin would still want to be a pilot. He’s wearing a Naboo pilots uniform, the same kind he wore for one episode, as a disguise in the Clone Wars.
It was probably controversial to cut Anakin’s sacred, Jedi mullet. I was inspired by the original, Force-Ghost Anakin in the Original Trilogy. Maybe Anakin would have imagined himself with shorter hair later in life?
