this is probably the most impressive thing i’ve done lately. i’m still so damn proud of it

scene from the kingsreach 5e campaign i’m in! a bit of context and bonus silly version under cut!

purple: arvalen (npc); white and dead: carunas (pc, cleric)

backstory expo session showing in a sort of shared dream-session how current carunas (who is a reborn one) died and was reborn. his city was destroyed by invaders (because it’s a city of necromancers and Necromancy Bad except Osovan necromancers are pretty chill and not enslave-y) and he and his family were able to escape, in the process releasing arvalen (his best friend, imprisoned for Cwimes) to help him escape as well

except they were jumped outside of the city and everyone but arvalen killed (bc arvalen is effectively immortal) and after arvalen wrecked the enemies’ shit he proceeded to absolutely lose it, refuse to accept carunas’s death, and then fused part of his immortal demon heart to carunas’s and brought him back. (it got complicated from there)

carunas (and his player) didn’t know this was how it went down and the whole session was just intense and amazing and breathtaking and the reason why i started recording our sessions because i was Not going to miss something like that again. (yes everyone knows they’re being recorded. im also using it for animatics. i only have one done so far but im working on it ok)

anyhow here’s the silly version, cawunas and awvawen:

the party is currently doing some work in a graveyard with some zombies so of course val is gonna be taking advantage of her changeling powers to be Topical in her clothing and color scheme

val’s weasel familiar, lukas! he’s babie

ajax here is pokemon poacher and kind of a dick, but he loves his own pokemon and isn’t cruel to them or the protected pokemon he poaches to sell, even though he’s a Shady Character. He’s brusque and to-the-point, a no-nonsense sort of man who just elected to make his living on the wrong side of the law. He does carry a gun, just in case, but he usually sticks to using his pokemon to settle any issues

His pokemon:
Cleo, Espeon: a bit flirty, enjoys teasing Buck in particular and has a biting wit when she wants to
Buck, Mightyena: he’s big dumb and aggro but has no fear and is actually a big softie at heart
Mango, Tyranitar: the laziest motherfucker you’ve ever seen. gives no fucks.
Rin, Raichu: she’s adorable and peppy and friendly, but given to excitement-shocking new people without realizing it

this is basically the sciverse trio’s dynamic tbh

a few pokemon OCs! they’re experiments escaped from a lab; doom is a trans guy who signed up for a study promising free medical transition, only to realize they were not clear about what he was transitioning to and now he can become a houndoom at will.

grizz is a mom friend ursaring genetically enhanced to be even more cold-resistant and is now huge and fluffy and ice/normal type

mewchu is a genetic atrocity created completely in the lab using pikachu genes to fill in the missing parts of mew’s genetic code. she’s considered a failure and is real mad about everything.

theyve got more info on my toyhouse (and im malafight there too)

a couple outfit refs for astra. not the best at designing Sci-Fi clothing that looks utilitarian and kinda scruffy but eventually i’ll get there lol

at least i’m getting a bit more consistent with drawing herXD
