Salò, the largest town on Lake Garda’s western shore, is part of the Brescia province. At the feet of the San Bartolomeo mountain range on the bay of Salò, the town district. The city is encircled by the moral hills in the south and in the west.

Salò is the city of Alto Garda Bresciano and is therefore recognized as the main city with the largest population densities. A region characterized by beautifular Mediterranean vegetation begins at Salò, the Riviera bresciana between Salò and Gargnano. The climate in Salò is mild thanks to its location between the Valtenesi, the Sabba valley, and the upper Garda lake.

For the villagers situated on the western side of the lake, Salò is an significant leisure, education and culture hub. It forms the “Riviera dei Limoni” along with the other seven municipal districts on the west coast. The old town center consists of a thick network of alleys and squares with various stores and nice restaurants.

The longest on Lake Garda is the enchanting lakefront promenade. The beaches in the south of the bay are idyllic and attractive. The hill “San Bartolomeo,” offers numerous routes and panoramic pine forest tours. From the path, the view of Monte Baldo (Main Mountain of Malcesine) is wonderful.

Salo Lake Garda Things to Do

The “Santa Maria Annunziata” cathedral, recognized as a major church in Lake Garda, is worth visiting, the Palazzo della Podestà, the current city hall, and other palaces and portals of importance.

Throughout the year Salò is animated by cultural, sports, music and entertainment events. Saturday is the weekly market. The picturesque landscape surrounding Lake Garda’s largest city can quickly be found by walks and bike lanes.

With its several restaurants, bed and breakfasts, holiday apartments and location camping, Salò provides lodging for relatives, mates and couples.

Up - Black Handed Kites

Black Handed Kites are a really great indie folk band based in Cape Town, South Africa. They have a raw, natural, rugged and folksy sound that is unique to them.

If you are an old soul, love a little dirty rock ‘n roll, are touched by blues and enjoy having a good time kicking it back around a bonfire with a couple beers, then Black Handed Kites are for you.

Man, they are just so cool

They originally recorded their own music video to “Up” on an iPhone, which caught the attention of boom.fm and Cannes award-winning director, Robin Goode, who re-recorded it.

The result? This baby.

One of my favorite parts of paris is the abundance of adorable hidden streets like this. Of course places like the Eiffel Tower, Rue de Rivoli and Notre Dame are equally as beautiful in their own right.. but there is something magical about stumbling upon a completely deserted street covered in vines or beautiful architecture. This one is called Cour Damoye, located just off the busy area of Bastille. I’ve walked around this area countless times and only recently came across this street.
Some other great places to check out are Rue Crémieux, and the many passages couverts (covered passages).
