This litter is the sweeeeeetest, seriously. These pictures were taken last weekend so new ones will be uploaded soon. Almost every single baby is comfortable with laying/sleeping on their backs in my hand. It’s the cutest and I truly hope you enjoy these pictures.
Y'ALL, we are back in action
We took a few steps back these past two and a half years. We continued to own rats as pets but refrained from breeding and took in minimal rescues. After some serious consideration (and preparation) we have decided to resume providing rescue services for the local community. We are located in King George, VA and we have begun to work with local animal shelters.
We currently have two nursing litters that will be available for adoption in two weeks and four weeks (respectively). Stay tuned for more info and pictures of the pups!
A bit late in the game, but happy (belated) world rat day!
I have been very inactive for the last weeks. My last boys got older, weaker and I decided to take a break from owning rats after the last two, Archimedes and Dante, were gone. Now they’re 2,5 and 3 years old and live in a flat cage for seniors, because they have problems using their legs. The vet also found tumors inside their bellies, so they don’t have lots of time left. They get pain killers and will live as a senior duo as long as they get along well.
But as my big cage got empty, I found these six sweethearts looking for a new forever home. I fell in love immediately, so they moved in yesterday. So obviously no ratty break for me. Instead I am blessed with these amazing rescue boys, who are roundabout one year old.

Dante is so pretty!
Sweet guy in his galaxy hammock.
Our sweet little ratty, Nova was carried away by the Goddess this afternoon at 12:45pm. Last night my girlfriend and I noticed she wasn’t doing well. There was nothing we could do for her but to make her comfortable and say our goodbyes. My heart is broken. Some may not think that rats are pets, but let me tell you how sweet she was. She never bit me or hurt me in any way. When I asked for kisses, she would tug on my lip ring, all gently. She was the runt and the smallest but she had such a big heart. Rest in Peace my sweet little girl. You will be greatly missed.
