Over a thousand Swedish volunteers participated in the Finnish Civil War on the proto-fascist white side in its reactionary terror against Red Guards but also against civilian proletarians and peasants.

These Swedish fascists stayed. The rather unknown “Frändefolkskrigen” were run by Swedish and Danish fascists. These wars were attacks on Soviet power in Karelia and Estonia and started before the end of the Class War in Finland which lasted until 1922. They can be said to be part of the imperialist war against Soviet power and socialism.

Pictured is a Swedish brigade in Helsinki on 16 May 1918 led by commander Allan Winge. Winge came from a wealthy bourgeois family situated in Stockholm. His father was a chief executive officer/director.
