So I did a pendulum test on all my chakras a feed weeks ago and discovered that my solar plexus is blocked … it’s still not moving and I’m not going to lie, I’m feeling pretty down and disappointment that it isn’t healing. So I’ve been reading & researching to create a plan of action.

This photo is a throwback to this past summer in Harpswell on the coast of Maine, about 20 minutes from my dad’s house. Often times while I’m at college I find myself thinking back to all the drives I’ve taken, sunsets I’ve watched, and shitty moods that have turned to happiness all because of this place. Harpswell is my escape when I feel pinned down. It’s close but at the same time it’s so far away from everything in my life. I feel as if I’m alone, it’s so peaceful. It’s one of the most beautiful places, in my opinion, in the world. Simple, but beautiful. Many people may not appreciate it like I do, which is understandable. But here is where you’ll find me on many summer evenings. I come out here to watch the sunset while lobster boats come in after a long day of work. I come out here to observe all the tourists, coming from all over the country, while I appreciate that I have it all in my backyard. I come out here to reflect on life, or to forget things.

Trying to apply to some apprenticeships made me realise just how differently people think of my art, my skills, my ideas,…

My job is so much, but yesterday the honor program had their poster sessions which the kids (literally grad students but we call them kids) work on so hard all year researching and what not. And while I stopped by, a black woman student was presenting and I was just so proud.
She was speaking on the language preferred by black, indigenous, and white ppl when caregivers are treating accidental overdoses (one of the names/terms most black ppl would like to hear caregivers use) and my heart. It just felt good to see a black woman speaking abt something so small but would make such a difference in someone’s life when they’re being treated at a hospital or even on the street. Ofc I congratulated her bc this is why I love student affairs, I get to see black and brown ppl making space for themselves where we never had before. I get to see black and brown ppl be great and speak on their passions like its amazing.
I know I looked like a proud auntie during her presentation even with my mask on! And I was!!!
All this just to say, work is fucking exhausting. But I love seeing my people creating meaningful change in their fields. I know next to nothing about pharmacy, but I know my people are going to be in good hands with these next few years of pharmacist this school will produce. They’re amazing yall.
