I have a theory, but I’m not too positive that it’ll happen:

I would love it if they showed how Jim and Toby met, and how Jim and Claire met. But in the whole thing how Jim and Claire met, I hope that how they met in the books would stay how it is. And when Jim sees her on the dance floor, the song playing when he sees her is Eres tú. That’d be such a good connection to season one, and if Jim played that song during their dance for that particular reason

I want there to be a few minute scene in the movie where Claire hangs out with Mary and Darci catching up, and Jim catches up with Toby, Steve, and even Krel (of course Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!! Could join too). I’d love to see Claire hanging out with the girls and Jim finding out about the war with “an alien god”, as Toby put it

Like, Toby mentions bringing the robot to school. I presume the town of Arcadia rebuilt the school over the summer. So if we pick up after the summer is over, these kids have started their junior year. You’re telling me they have to save the world and study for SATs?

This right here may answer your question:

It sounds like they will be, or close to 18 years old by the movie, and Aaron says right here that they were around 17 by the end of Wizards. Which to me, sounds like there will be a year time jump. So Toby might be talking about senior year now. Which kinda makes sense too if you think about it. Cause with the amount of damage the ship did to the school in Wizards, it doesn’t look like it’ll be a few week fix, in my opinion.
