I just checked YouTube yesterday and saw that after only one exact week from the release of the announcement, Trollhunters Rise of the Titans teaser trailer already got 1 million views!!
I feel like by the time late June, or early July comes around, most or all of the TOA fandom will have a running thing going for when everyone will start watching all the shows again to get ready for the movie.
Did anyone get struck yet, having time to process in realizing that Trollhunters ROTT is the absolute final instalment in this beloved journey we’ve gotten to share with these characters and shows we’ve come to love?
Anyone else still kinda shocked that Netflix is actually marketing Trollhunters Rise of the Titans?!
I mean, mainly 3Below and Wizards either didn’t have anything commercializing them until the last two weeks before it was released, or the week before!
I guess I do understand though, some shows on Netflix don’t really get marketed until the last week or two before it releases onto the app. But I’m SO happy that because this is the movie and the last instalment to the franchise that we literally got news about this almost 3 months in advance!! Isn’t that just amazing to think about?!
I’ve already mentioned this in one of my previous posts, but I wanted to kinda touch on it a little more.
Ok, so we all remember this glorious armour we received in a certain trailer two days ago:
I still can’t get over it tbh.
The fact that this movie is the finale instalment, everyone’s included and this armour thats given to a Trollhunter is forged using Akiridion tech and magic, is just so clever. And he looks so amazing in it.
But…
A part of me is thinking this is something shown in the trailer to throw the fandom off.
Showing this armour Jim gets in the movie has changed a lot of people’s thoughts on Jim wielding Excalibur, since this shows that he gets new armour that doesn’t come from Excalibur. And with that, I think a lot of people all of a sudden turned to the thought of “ok, that must settle it, Jim won’t wield it. But if he doesn’t who will?”.
In my own opinion, I don’t think Steve will wield Excalibur. Steve’s a great character, but being, like the comedic relief character, it just wouldn’t seem right for him to wield it. Especially since Jim’s the main character in the movie, and something that big for someone to wield sounds like he’d end up having it.
I think this is a great way to throw the fans off though, cause it either makes us just shocked since we thought he’d wield Excalibur, or just plain confused. Cause I’m pretty sure everyone remembers the whole scene in Wizards at the end with an entire scene of Jim trying to pull it out.
At that time, I don’t know if Jim was trying as hard as he was with the Daylight sword in the Trollhunters pilot. I mean, it completely makes sense though too, after everything in Wizards he was through, he’s probably lacking a lot of self confidence now and maybe even with what all just happened, doesn’t know if he’d even be able to do it either.
But then with the scene up above after he hugs Claire, he opens his eyes, stares at Excalibur, and the camera focuses the shot on the sword. I feel like this shot is just foreshadowing at its finest, especially with some confused with the info on the new armour we just got.
Which got me thinking, if Jim doesn’t wield Excalibur up to a certain point in the movie cause of the Akiridion magical armour, that it’ll be more like a buildup to get Excalibur. And with that, I mean that the armour we were shown was to show off some info, (of course) showing us what’s going on with Jim and how he’ll defend himself up to a certain point of the movie. But I’m thinking that that might be the armour he’ll be wearing for a good amount of the movie, until closer to the end where he’ll finally be able to pull Excalibur out. Because the more I watch that whole scene at the end of Wizards then look again at the armour, that’s the only thought that keeps rolling in my head to explain the confusion I had, and makes the most sense in my head.
Sorry to rant, but I was wondering too if anyone else kinda felt confused about this and thought, or theorized anything similar to this :)

They may be in New Jersey by this point, cause it’s looking like he’s about to face off with someone in a (very beat up) train, or bus.
I’ll be honest, it feels kinda weird that Claire isn’t here with him for some reason to me. But the fact that it looks like he’s facing someone alone with a weapon we’ve never seen him use will be just something I’ll be on the edge of my seat for!
Is that a Heartstone?!
This looks like their in Arcadia, or at least Douxie and Claire are for all we know from this pic. They probably all are, they’re probably just at another part of town.
The two siblings we’ve come to know looking both sexy and badass, something this fandom is absolutely LOVING
But the heartstone, or evil magic, whatever that is behind them is making my head turn.
This one has had sooo many theories.
It could be of another random place in the world, it could be associated with the enchanted forest Nari represents, they could be getting ready for something to attack them from that way, or the lake could even be associated with Arthur, or the resting place of the lady of the lake.
It could be any one of those, or others too.
This I’d love to hear theories about in the comments, cause other than her maybe getting ready to fight against the hero’s looking at them, or plotting a plan against them in her base, or layer, I don’t got much.

People are debating if this Is in New York, or New Jersey, but with how much those billboards look like their from Times Square, I’m pretty sure this is in New York.
I keep getting confused if that if a train, or a bus with the length I’m thinking It looks like.
There’s a LOT to ask about this one.
Like about the blue magic and the reason this whole train needs to be stopped, if the blue magic is helping this or causing this, and If Jim’s in that bus or train with the Serrator like in one of the previous photos.

Are part of the same scene. Notice the orange sparks that look the exact same in each moment above?
I don’t know where Jim and Claire would be in this scene for that to be too accurate though, other than the fact that there’s a ship nearby this island, or titans during this scene. See the ship in the screenshot below??
And this part here:
I don’t really understand the theorizing for it. I just watched trollhunters season 1 episode 2 a few hours ago and it’s the exact same opening scene.
So I think they just added this in maybe to represent some things (like riding his bike) Jim could be doing around the beginning of the movie now that he can enjoy some days in the sun before the battle we all know is coming.
This picture is just SICK.
It’s so amazing, and my thoughts are along with almost everyone else’s. This is probably the trollmarket out in New Jersey. I’d love for Toby and AAARRRGGHH!!! To see it and maybe even get some small glimpses of past Jim and Claire arriving there since some of the movie will show the past.

This is definitely most likely Akiridion tech mixed with Wizards tech, especially with Krel mentioning in Wizards how well they work together.
No matter how amazing this armour is though, I feel like it’s also pushing people in a different perspective saying ‘Oh! So Jim doesn’t wield Excalibur. Then who will?’, But I think this part of the trailer was a misdirect. I feel like for the time being, he’ll be using this armour for a good amount of the movie. But with that foreshadowing shot of Jim looking at Excalibur at the end of Wizards, it’s making me think a good chunk of the movie will be building up to him finally being able to pull out, and wield Excalibur.
This is pretty interesting too. Claire, Krel, and Varvatos Vex are all on the top of the lava structure at the beginning of the trailer.
The only question that really circles in my head about this one is: “when in the movie does this scene happen?”.
Cause in one scene Krel doesn’t even seem to be there, and tbh, isn’t really anywhere for most of the promo pics and teaser trailer except for this moment. For some reason this is making me think it’s close to the start of the movie. I’m not too sure though.
Ok, not much in my head about this one.
The main thing is this looks like it’s close to the start too since their still in Arcadia, and don’t look injured or anything, which is great.
This one is a great one to think about.
Everyone of the main Six hero’s (adding in AAARRRGGHH Blinky and Varvatos) except for Krel is in this picture. Leading to the question: where the hell is Krel?
Better yet, where the hell is Nari, Archie, and the creepslayers?
This is making me think they got Nari. But if that’s the case, then where’s Archie?
Douxie’s holding what looks like a heart of Avalon, which makes me think could help in the whole time travel phenomenon for the movie. Idk if Archie’s trapped in time, completely fine, or in danger somewhere we don’t know, but them all looking sad, and/or serious makes me think whatever the heart of Avalon will be used for well be one of the biggest decisions of the film.
This one I wanted to add after the one that looks connects to it, or looks to be a part of the same scene. I saw this pic of the scene before the part looking connected to this in the trailer, so I’ll spill out whatever was going on about this in my head from then.
DOUXIES BACK!
OMG AND AJA’S BACK! AND IN HER QUEEN OUTFIT?!AAHHHHH!
People were actually saying her hair isn’t longer, but if you watch the trailer and look closely at her, you’ll see it actually does. I thought it wasn’t either, so I was a little shocked to see that part in the trailer.
But this one flooded so many questions into my head:
- Why’s Jim’s hand bandaged?
- where’s Krel?
- why’s the left side of Toby’s armour looking like it was ripped off?
- what are they all looking at?
- why is Claire’s armour seeming to react to, or with her magic?
- Jim’s extending his hand to Claire, is he thinking ‘this isn’t a good idea’, or was he just holding her before she swipes around and began blasting magic at whatever’s in front of them?
One thought that’s been in my head, or I guess more of a hope, is that I’m really hoping that if we get some troll jim in the movie, people will be respectful.
This isn’t to offend anyone, I’d absolutely love to see troll Jim at some point in this film, that’d be such a nice touch! But I’m really hoping that if even a little troll Jim is in it, that people by the end of the movie will be thankful and satisfied that they got the chance to see those forms of him one last time before Tales of Arcadia ends.
Cause no matter what, this film is gonna be amazing and deserves all the love we’re ready to give it:)
I hope in Trollhunters Rise of the Titans, there’ll be a battle where they’re gonna include all of Jim’s forms. That way, before the whole things done, we can see all of Jim’s troll forms!
To me, it wouldn’t make sense for him to be able to change into those forms and keep him like that at the end, cause it just wouldn’t feel like the end like it’s supposed to. But it would be really cool to include all of Jim’s forms in battle!
