After an incredible number of responses, these are the official prompts for Asuma Week 2021.
We’ve tried to keep each day varied, choose prompts that have room for varied interpretations (in most cases at least), and choose prompts that work equally for writers and artists. Hopefully there’s something for everyone
Normal mode: one prompt = one creation
Expert: 2 prompts = one creation
Insanity mode: all 3 prompts for a day = one creation
(just kidding this is not a competition )
As this is a new event for 2021 we will be accepting literally anything as a submission - playlist, screencap edit, poem, collage, whatever you can come up with, we want to see it!
Was I supposed to feel vindictive when Asuma died? I’m mostly just annoyed that Hidan and Kakuzu got introduced and now they’re dead : /. At this point, only the villains are interesting because they’re not falling for Naruto’s strange Mary Sue bubble. Seriously, people keep going on about his “special power” to make people root for him— And y’know what? It really must be some preternatural power because these intense character revelations keep getting triggered by Naruto doing absolutely nothing. So yeah, no, it is some kinda weird special power and I’d like it gone. (The fact that Kakashi keeps stressing that Naruto gets a SPECIAL jutsu that ONLY Naruto can do because he’s SPECIAL is : /)
Anyways, if Shikamaru died instead of Hidan and Kakuzu, I wouldn’t be phasd. Is it partly cuz Shikamaru’s still drinking his “ugh, women ” juice and I’m getting tired of it? Perhaps. But also, the idea that things keep going right for the Konoha folks… Isn’t building up any tension whatsoever. Asuma dying got me more interested than usual but that could just be because Hidan and Kakuzu were there. But other than that? The Asuma Revenge thing occurred right after he died— Like, not gonna let the pot simmer for a bit? The “wrong” being righted so quickly leaves less of an impact.
How do you differentiate between the antagonists and protagonists anymore? Hired Killer #1 or Hired Killer #2? Is anyone more cruel than the other? Nah, it’s just who has more screentime and who’s on Naruto’s side.
