THIS IS VERY MESSY i wasnt even bothered to make this formal since its still a wip but basically, with sanna dying during delivery, my scarlet king became enraged and was inevitably locked away by her curse. his loyal servants, terrified of the aftermath of ever disobeying their master despite him being inactive for the moment being until he rises yet again, made sure his legacy was well preserved and under his last wish, destroyed all traces of sanna in record and created a possible ritual that would renew his fallen bloodline, etc.
the knowledge of his name left behind by the eldritch underworld eventually made its way into human history and thus, the cult of the children of the scarlet king was born. they would kidnap innocent girls regardless of age to carry out the prophecy, torturing them endlessly and perfecting them to conform to the description of the brides.
however, every single victims perished during the procedure due to how ancient and dangerous it is in nature creating even more frustration among the ranks. obviously, with time, only seven mortal decoys managed to survive the ritual and 999 and 682 came to be.
