This weekend is the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Annual Conference. Scrolling back, I realized I didn’t even post about it here when I went two years ago in person!! I had a whirlwind of travel before and after, so I think I wanted to process all the great things I learned before sharing, and then the timing passed. Oops.

But! It was super inspiring, as has been the one this year, even though it’s virtual. I decided to add on an outside workshop of choice, and have been improving on drawing birds, thanks to @johnmuirlaws and @audubonca !

Does anyone recognize these?
Humans might have mixed feelings about the one on the left, but it is so important to certain birds and animals. The one on the right flowers lovely little yellow buds of brightness.
Spent the day learning more about the numerous preserve lands here! These two plants sometimes get confused together, but closer observation shows their differences pretty quickly.
