System Mauser

So the bolt in the Bock Mauser is not matching to the gun. It is actually form a WW2 K98 and has Waffen Stamps on it. I think that the rifle must have been brought back by an American GI after WW2 and a gunsmith later converted the bolt handle as well as engraved it. The scroll work theme also doesn’t match the rest or the rifle. And although it is nice, the craftsmanship is not up to par with Otto Bocks work. I also cross reference any pictures of Bock Mauser with spoon handle bolts and it doesn’t match up. Sad as it maybe, at least it was not run over by a Sherman tank.

Japanese Arms of World War Two

Harrington & Richardson Self Loading 25

A very cool vest pocket gun made by H&R form 1912 to 1920. It was loosely based on the Webely Self Loading Pistol, which H&R had a license to produce in the US. But unlike the Webely, the H&R 25s are stricker fired. On top of that the amount of machine work that went into this little pistol is unreal. It is definitely an example of old world craftsmanship.

My favorite part about it is, H&R was like, yeah, you don’t need sights. It is a very small pistol even compared against the FN/Browning 1910 and the Colt 1903.

System Browning

Star Modelo Super B

This is a Spanish take on a 1911, I had one some time ago but sold it to buy my 1968 Colt 1911A1. I kind of missed my odd Modelo Super. So I bought another one, this one is in much better shape then my last one. It is also Spanish Army issue, which is cool.

The M.A.C Modele 1935 S

This was a the French Secondary Service Pistol, it was intened to supplement the M1935 A in French Army Service. Both pistols where designed around the 7.65 or 32 French long cartridge. Which it self was developed form the French Armys experience in the Great War.

It is rather odd that The French Army would bother to go through the trouble of designing two completely independent and totally different pistol with no common parts. When at around the same time FN introduced the now famous P1935 Browning Hi Power and Radom introduced the Viz 1935 both in 9mm Luger.

Odd French Army thinking aside, the M1935 S is a handy little gun. It is thin. well balanced, and is easy to point. The 32 French long cartridge makes it easy to shoot and punches about as hard as 9mm Makarov.

Over all an interesting piece of history and a side note alot of this pistol are usually beat to hell. Or at least most if the ones I have ever seen. Not hard to imagine when you consider that most probably was service through out WW2, into Indo China, and Algeria.
