School mass shootings is something that, in Europe at least, we don’tunderstand.

You have to realise how crazy it sounds for us, it’s almost unreal. And even more than the fact that those shootings happen, we DONT understand why you’re still allowed to have guns.

The « debate » doesn’t even makes sense for us. The fact that there’s the need for a debate doesn’t makes sense.

When non-American makes sarcastic remarks like that one, it’s because we can’t even fathom the need for a debate on gun control.

The US gun situation is surreal so we only have surreal remarks to make.

Sarcastic comments on the stupidity of US laws doesn’t take away anything from the tragedy or the sympathy we have for the victims.

Furthermore, Americans have to realise that the « thoughts and prayers » response is also something that doesn’t makes sense for Europeans. Here in Europe we look at the US exchanging « thoughts and prayers » when there should be riots and outrage to force the government to change the law.

What’s a « joke » to Europeans isn’t the shootings. It’s the US response to those shootings.
