This one in particular was quite difficutlt to create. I tried to learn how to render fur in Blender, but it kept turning out poorly, so in the end I had to graft in a lot of fur from other renders, and draw a lot of follicles manually in Photoshop. If anyone has any tips I’m all cat ears.

Lots of the fan art I make is just an excuse to listen to certain music on repeat. For this one it was the amazing “World Bowser” theme from 3D World. Here’s the process gif as always:

We’ve had two Japan-exclusive costumes already, so it’s time to give Bowser Week a “western rep” with King Koopa as he appeared in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Only one more costume left to share tomorrow. Have you guessed it?

I had to model the head in Blender from scratch for this one, so here’s the concept art I made to assist that.

Here’s the process gif. Chronologically, this was the last alternate I made for this series. I’ve been posting them this week somewhat out of order from how I made them. The order I made them was as follows: Wedding, Dry, Tomorrow’s one, SM64, SMB3, Makeover, then this.

The leader of the Space Pirates. He looks like a pterosaur but has high intelligence and a brutal nature. He plans to steal the baby Metroid from Samus for his own use. Ridley utilizes wings for a full range of flight and attacks with fireballs from his mouth and whips of his tail. As the culprit behind the murder of Samus’s parents, the connections with Samus run deep.
