The new season got me falling for a new ship

I love him so much.❤  

Niccolo, to me, is characterized by a very overwhelming desire to be loved.

Think about it - he fell head over heels in love with a woman who he considered a literal devil, all because she praised his cooking and showed genuine admiration towards him.

And on the other hand, he was incredibly quick to tell his comrades to essentially sacrifice him and attack the Eldians (who were literally holding him at gun point), and equally quick to put himself in the position of the villain with Jean and Connie in order to try and save their lives. In conjunction with the previous point this reads to me as someone who is used to, expects, or at least thinks he deserves being disliked.

I think that, rather than being a natural-born talented Chef, Niccolo was just a person who - due to his impulsive, angry and even violent nature we see demonstrated with Gabi - just wasn’t very loved in his early life. I think he took up cooking because it’s a skill that brings people together and that lightens up people’s day, and he worked at it in hopes of having that positive aspect ascribed to himself.

I don’t think his desire to make others happy is insincere, so much as I think it has a secondary - somewhat selfish - motivation of wanting to be liked and admired for making them happy.

And Sasha was the first person who never saw him through the lense of impulsivity or anger or violence - she only cared about the positive aspects he’d worked to cultivate. She genuinely admired him without anything marring that vision and he immediately became addicted to it.

Which isn’t to say he didn’t truly love her - they had time to bond afterwards after all - just that the initial spark came from Sasha’s praise and Niccolo’s desire for it.

But hey.

That’s just a headcannon.

I want to talk about Hange in episode 13

Sorry for using panels from the manga but honestly in my opinion this episode was not my favorite (I loved it of course, but it’s not my favorite) I am a bit in a bad mood for some parts that were excluded or that were not appreciated so much. I know probably nobody cares except me. I’m not complaining, I’m giving my opinion so I hope no one comes to bother me in the comments :)

Anyway

It will always amazed me how I can love Hange more and more.

I mean, is that even possible ??

When I read this in the manga I was so touched by how big Hange’s heart is.

She knew who those children were and yet her first thought was to stop the whole situation.

In the anime you can’t appreciate it that much but Hange was the first person to reach out to help Falco

She didn’t have to be so attentive to him, so worried about him but she was because that’s just how Hange is

Even when Nicolo told her that it was surely too late, Hange stepped forward and began themself, despite being the commander to try to save Falco, to bathe him!!

I just … love her so much. Every episode I am so proud of her

all of you snk fandom after seeing this arc you are not allowed to ignore Hange anymore! YOU CAN’T

THIS IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER

All these years Hange never felt that Erwin made the right decision in choosing her as commander. Always blaming themself and taking responsibility for inevitable mistakes. Feeling depressed and useless and still giving her all to do the right thing, to fulfill her role as a leader.

People always focus on Levi’s suffering for choosing Armin and Armin’s pain for being the one who lived in Erwin’s place, but hardly anyone talks about Hange, as always no one recognizes their hard work…

Hange is giving her whole being to humanity

and I’m so proud of her
