So was I the only one crying when we saw Peter in the “I survived my trip to NYC” shirt from the first movie?

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker really did not care that he was about to kill someone on Caps shield.

But that’s the great thing about it.

The writers could’ve had him look around or notice that he was on Caps shield, and stop because thats what Steve would want him to do.

Peter loves the Avengers, those are his hero’s. He looks up to them. So it’s not so far out that it would make him stop in his tracks.

But no. Peter stops because of Tobey’s spidey.

Peter stops because he sees a version of himself that wants more for him, that wants him to be better.

The fucking symbolism.

And Tobey’s Spiderman didn’t even know what the shield was.

me, squinting at the person questioning Peter: lol you think he could kill a person? that is the human equivalent of a golden retriever.

Peter Parker is so noble and good, like this would’ve been me telling MJ to press the damn button as soon as I heard green goblin’s creepy cackle:

next Spider-Man movie should be called Spider-Man: No Homies ✊

Saw two marvel movies I hadn’t seen yet recently, so Opinions (no spoilers, but may affect viewing. Spoilers in hovertext):

New Spider Man:

• a good one! Every single actor acted their socks off in this one!

• apparently uncle Ben doesn’t exist in TH!Peter’s universe and it was interesting and nice to further explore Peter as having almost always been the son of a single mother.

• definitely thought Strange was the Wrong Strange for most of the movie because of the costume choice to keep the eye of agamotto container for the time stone

• disagree fundamentally with the decision to [REDACTED] but it was handled well, especially with [REDACTED] at the end. Doing that if [SPOILER] lived would have been unnecessarily cruel

• this is definitely the movie this spider man grows up in. Like, he BECOMES spider man in this one and he’s been a kid doing superheroics up till now. Again, acting socks off. Everyone.

New Doctor Strange:

• quality went like this –^__

• like. What HAPPENED to the second half of that script??? How did the goals shift like that??? The whole movie seemed to be trying to say our dr strange was not like [REDACTED] and THEN??

• new blorbo dropped! my girl!

• some intimately real horror violence + WELL done classic horror tropes. Kudos to the classic horror no kudos to the intimate violence it…served the plot technically but was still really really shocking.

• seriously missed opportunity to rule of three the spider man line about sacrifice only for Christine and or [REDACTED] to call him on it. Like THAT would have been the perfect climax/potential start of darkness, not actually going through with [REDACTED]. Which also had weaksauce long term consequences until the realization [REDACTED]. How are they going to resolve THAT one? Or will they abandon it the way they abandoned loki possessing selvig?

• seriously though what HAPPENED to the second half of this movie?
