Imagine being a member of Daily Bugle’s editing staff who the Green Goblin abducts as “collateral.”

Imagine being a member of Daily Bugle’s editing staff who the Green Goblin abducts as “collateral.”

Your kidnapper held up a green tube labeled CX. 00009, before wagging it in front of your face.

“Do you know what this is, my dear?”

You instinctively crossed your legs.

“Hm, I wasn’t going to ‘goblinize’ you that way, but I may as well fulfill your expectations.”

Note:Haven’t seen No Way Homeyet.

Yaaay, it’s finished-commission-o’-clock!

This piece was done by the awesome Ashley Masog, who illustrated one of my favorite lines from the second fic in my “Octogoblin - In Sickness and In Health” series, “Come Back To Me,” that explored Norman’s past as a DID system.

(She’s still available for commissions, too! Check out her info, below!)

It’s only a personal headcanon of mine, but I prefer to see the Goblin persona as an alter Norman and his other headmate at the time, Not Norman, formed to *protect* them, from abuse they were facing as kids.

When Tom’s Peter is beating the Goblin to a pulp in the climax of “No Way Home,” with the Goblin laughing the entire time, all I could see was a protector alter who’d become someone deeply unwell, who was thrilled at the idea that the “hero” Norman and Not Norman wished for might finally be about to bring all their suffering to an end.

And then… Peter *spared* him.

Having history with being a DID system myself, including one alter who started as a protector and ended up a persecutor as well, it was so unbelievably cathartic for me to see that Spider-Man decided Norman Osborn/the Goblin was someone worth saving, in the end, no matter what.

Thanks so much, Ashley, for taking the text in my head and turning it into something fantastic, that everyone can see! ❤

Also, I just wanna say that I know the one on the top left is a pumpkin bomb. I’m just making the joke with looks alone for that top one

i`ve had enough media with awful father Norman that’s not what my fatherless personality desires

and otto as mom

(Forgot to write “i thought” In Harry’s words cuz he ran across all abandoned warehouses in town )

I’m still thinking about the dumbest take I’ve read today regarding NWH and that is how the villains were cured and helped “against their will”. Like honestly it’s so hilarious but also…sad? Odd? Pathetic ? I can’t think of the right word because I’m still kinda baffled. Idk like the fact people want to pit Peter’s good deed as some invented issue about consent blows me. It sounds so…disingenuous. Like ya know how you hear on tiktok these weird ass libertarian new age feminist posts but the whole argument is either contradicting or just moot? Like imagine helping a homeless person who’s had previous issues before whether be with the law or personal, clearly needs help but is reluctant and some person goes around saying “well you helped them against their will!” As if that’s supposed to be some gotcha.

I don’t know it’s just the weirdest argument I’ve seen yet with this movie.

After watching Spider-Man: No Way Home all I want now is for Disney (or Sony) to create a TV mini-series about the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. They were literally the diamonds of this movie.

What can I say, this is my childhood dream coming to real life! Still can’t believe it’s happened…

On a side note, I’ve been so busy with college that I haven’t been active on tumblr at all, but I’m still very active on Instagram. So check it out if you would like to see some more content like reels and earlier posts. Hope to see you there ☺️

I’m back with one more, this one was easy, nothing much.

hellzyeahthewebwieldingavenger:

I’m tired of this misconception so I’m debunking it once and for all. Feel free to reblog or link to this in any discussions you find yourself in.

Let me start by making something clear. Yes, Gwen Stacy did have sex with Norman Osborn/the Green Goblin. My contention though is not about that but about the misconception that this was an affair or constituted unfaithfulness towards Peter/Spidey.

I think people have this weird idea that Gwen emerged wholecloth as Spider-Man’s waifu when that’s not how things happened. Gwen and Peter gradually got together and fell in love with their first date occurring in ASM #53

It was effectively their only  date between then and ASM #59-61. This is relevant because the latter issues comprise a story arc in which Gwen and Peter are on the outs. Gwen’s father, Captain Stacy, was brainwashed by the Kingpin and as a result attacked Peter. Peter defended himself but didn’t account for his strength. When Gwen walked into the room she believed her father’s story that Peter had attacked him. She told Peter to get lost, temporarily ending any relationship they had at the time; not that they were even exclusive at the time anyway.

Compounding things Gwen saw Peters pictures in the Daily Bugle incriminating her father.

The long and short of this story is that Gwen and her father found themselves endangered by the Kingpin until they were rescued by none other than Norman Osborn.

At the time Norman was amnesic and was unaware that he was the Green Goblin.

After this incident that Gwen went to thank Norman for saving her and her father. It was at this point that she and Norman slept together as established by The Official Handbook to the Marvel Universe: Spider-Man 2005.

Neither the handbook nor any other story ever even hints that Gwen and Norman had sex more than once. By any definition it was a one time encounter.

Now let’s take a quick trip to Wikipedia and read the first few sentences on their ‘Infidelity’ article.

Infidelity (synonyms include: cheating, straying, adultery (when married), being unfaithful, or having an affair) is a violation of a couple’s assumed or stated contract regarding emotional and/or sexual exclusivity. Other scholars define infidelity as a violation according to the subjective feeling that one’s partner has violated a set of rules or relationship norms; this violation results in feelings of anger, jealousy, sexual jealousy, and rivalry.

What constitutes an act of infidelity depends upon the exclusivity expectations within the relationship.

Perhaps we could argue she did something wrong. That it was wrong for her to have slept with the father of her friend Harry or to have not told Peter about her encounter with Norman or being pregnant with his children.

But given that Gwen and Peter had been on effectively one  date and were not together  when she slept with Norman, by definition she was NOT CHEATING on anyone!

“Harry,” I managed to say breathlessly between his kisses. “Hm?” He hummed in question against my lips. “This is wrong.” I whispered. I knew this was wrong, he did too. Neither of us wanted to stop though, it was human nature after all. How could I not want him after all this time.

“Why?” He asked, almost as if teasing me. Like he wanted me to admit what I had done. “Harry-“ “Say it.” He interrupted. It was hard to even manage words with his hands roaming my body the way they were. I could hardly focus on anything but him. “Pete.” I said. We both know that keeping this a secret would hurt him. Ruin the friendship that was shared between the boys…and the relationship I planned to end with him.

“Does he make you feel like this, baby?” Harry asked huskily, lips traveling down my jaw and neck. His hands roaming lower and lower. “Does he please you the way I do?” Now Harry knew that this was a rhetorical question, but he’s also an asshole. He wanted to hear me say it. He wanted me to tell him what he wants to hear.

“No.” I said, breathing heavily and his nimble fingers found home in my panties. He smiled menacingly, beginning to rub circles on my clit with his thumb. I was still sensitive from the last orgasm he had given me, and he knew it. I hissed at the feeling, but it wasn’t unwanted. “Whose girl are you huh? Whose dirty girl are ya?” He quickened his pace, making me restless. “Whose this for huh?” His voice got louder. “Yours, yours Harry. I’m yours.” I moaned out. He smiled, happy with my answer.

He let me cum one last time, licking his fingers clean afterwards. He sat up beside me, once again with that menacing smile plastered on his face. He liked doing this to me. He liked sneaking around behind Peter’s back. I think he liked the thought of doing him wrong. I knew that it is wrong, but god does it feel so damn good.

Marvel Universe: Green Goblin

This is from wave 2. Whether or not this figure re-uses the earlier body mold I cannot say but it does work here. The face looks demonic and the patterns on both his arm and leg sleeves have been sculpted in. It looks great. The glider has no detail to it. It also has no pegs so the figure doesn’t stand very well on it. The purse or man bag is removable and the pumpkin bomb can be attached to right hand only via peg. There’s not much more I can say.

The Green Goblin is one of Spider-Man’s oldest villains and he’ll live in infamy as the man who helped cause the death of Gwen Stacy…. and yet I have always found him to be extremely boring. I’ve never been fan of the Green Goblin at all. I think Marvel got it rightwith the Hob Goblin which I feel is superior.
