Questioning Prophet (CoC AO3 Update)
[BatIM Call of Cthulhu Masterpost]
Joey:@inkyvendingmachine
Sammy:@inkdemonapologist
GM:@haunted-hijinxerAs the group prepares for the contest that evening where they hope to find Susie and the other muses, Joey, Sammy, and Bendy decide to see if Prophet has any insight to share on what’s to come.
…Or on the mysterious episode Jack had the other day that left stars in his eyes…
Questioning Prophet
Sammy stared at the paper for a long time, pen hovering over the surface.
“DID SOMETHING HAPPEN TO JACK?”
He slowly set the pen down, uncertain, reading over the questions he’d left one more time before looking back up at the other two. His expression still seemed… distracted. “Don’t give him more Ink this time. He has to ask me.”
Little doodle of Leon! He’d been kind of around the fringes of the scenario for a while (shooting guns at the sky outside of hospitals, being a mysteriously awkward voice on the telephone) but he hadn’t actually run into the party until they tried to visit the muses’ apartment. He’s a medical student whose exposure to the occult has been fairly innocent up to this point. He’s a little(a lot) out of his depth but he’s here to help and doing his best!
January/February Update
Hey there everyone. I hope you’re doing okay.
Going to summarize what follows below here: I have a new editor I’m working with on a trial run, I completed at least one story and am nearing completion on another, and my momentum got whacked by injuries.
Editors!
So I finally managed to get a new editor to work on stories. So far, we’ve worked on A Fun Little Swim, Part 2. A second draft is in the works, should be ready in a couple weeks.
I may also endeavor to use StoriesOnline’s editors. Depending on the situation, I may have another story worked as well. But hey, at the very least, I’m making progress in dealing with my backlog. And just in time, too, because…
Stories!
I got more stories in the pipeline! The next part of A Long Trip to Nowhere Important has made a lot of progress. I may split it to multiple parts, though, given it’s much larger than I anticipated (already at 12k total and it’s probably going to be another 3-4k). It also inspired an alternate ending that I may do in the future. I really enjoy writing this story, it’s so much fun
I also completed the second chapter and got well into the third chapter of The Great Lake. After the third is complete, I’ll seek out edits for the set of three.
Underneath Her Skin I’m putting on ice. I like the idea, but I’m not sure how I feel about how things are set up with it. I might go back to the topic at some point.
I was actually hoping to get both A Long Trip Part 2 and The Great Lake 1-3 done this month, as a sort of personal goal. But then…
Injuries!
I sliced my finger making soup
I’m fine, though I had to go to the ER to get stitches. Consequently, though, the creative momentum I had going into February kind of collapsed. I haven’t really written much since then. Unfortunate, really, but it happens.
My hope is that next month, with editing, I’ll start regaining momentum and writing things again.
Anyway, that’s all for now. I should possibly have an update in March, depending on how fast I get A Fun Little Swim done. Take care, and remember to practice good knife etiquette. That way you don’t get injured!
