I had great fun working with the student team (plus a few industry peeps) led by Apol Thomaier at the Academy of Art University on their short, Monsters In The Dark! As always, Apol is dedicated to telling stories with meaning - this time focused on the trauma and hope of the foster system. I was responsible for modeling and texturing Lucas, the central character. They’re off to the film festival circuits now!

Sweater base mesh in Marvelous Designer; main sculpt in zBrush; hair cards in Maya; textured in Substance Painter

See our facebook page here for news regarding the film, and poke around in those photo albums for behind the scenes artwork. And most of all, enjoy!

Spent some time noodling away at some environment thumbnails for my third year film pitch. I really want to pay tribute to my Indian heritage and celebrate it because it’s such a huge part of my identity!

Indian architecture was hard to understand at first but slowly it got more fun! I’m excited to study it more over summer!!

Refined my costume designs for my third year film pitch by drawing them in motion!

Found this really useful in understanding the design of Indian outfits better - I think I’m getting close to a final design!
