I designed a character these past few days that I want to turn into a 3D puppet, using Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, 3DS Max, Substance and Vray. All in need is time and some more time. 

I had the luck to attend a Workshop with Cédric Séaut from Keos Masons at school, lecturing about 3D concept art, Zbrush and Substance pipeline, and I am so thrilled to learn more about it to give life to 3D CGI characters with an extra level of details !

$20 USD

  • simple chibi model
  • flat shaded with outline
  • no rig
  • simple pose + turnaround gif
  • the obj/fbx file (+ texture) +$10

$60 USD

  • flat shaded with outline or gradients 
  • simple rig + weight paint
  • simple pose + turnaround gif
  • pose sheet with 3 poses
  • the obj/fbx file (+ texture)

Extra:

  • a small 1-2 sec animation +$15
  • extra pose +$1
  • maya (.mb) file +$10

This time I was a character artist. My first time being one and also the first time animating a 3D character/creature ^^ the whole project was intensive but really rewarding! I also made the main character, a bounty hunter, who is on a mission to save an island from these evil spider creatures.

//edit: the gifs were too big so i will post them later to work properly! ops :x

I have realized that I don’t feel proportions right if I work in 3d, so layout sketches help a lot, highly recommend it!

In a future world pollinators are almost wiped out, so this dude was made to maintain his little pollinating mechs! And he wants the forest to seem friendly, so he decides to have them lgiht it up! His hands are glowing lures too to attract the bugs back to him-

I had great fun working with the student team (plus a few industry peeps) led by Apol Thomaier at the Academy of Art University on their short, Monsters In The Dark! As always, Apol is dedicated to telling stories with meaning - this time focused on the trauma and hope of the foster system. I was responsible for modeling and texturing Lucas, the central character. They’re off to the film festival circuits now! 


Sweater base mesh in Marvelous Designer; main sculpt in zBrush; hair cards in Maya; textured in Substance Painter
