Each day of the seven day week held a special significance to a god. Sunday was the day sacred to the Sun, Monday the Moon, Tuesday Tyr, Wednesday Odin, Thursday Thor, Friday Frigga, and Saturday Loki. The name of each day sounds fairly similar to its corresponding god, with the exception of Saturday, which is often mistakenly assumed to be named for the Roman god Saturn.
Saturday, the final day of the week, was originally known as Laugardag (formed from Loki’s name, but it translates to wash-day). When adapted to English, the day did in fact maintain its connection to Loki. The word Saturday is based on Sataere (the thief in ambush). This is simply another one of Loki’s names, used when referring to Loki as a god of agriculture (each of the gods presided over several different aspects of the universe, and Loki was no exception). So, although few know of it, the final day of the week is still named for Loki.
Incidentally, I’ve seen a lot of campaigns online prompting people to begin calling Saturday “Lokisday”. Most people have no idea Saturday is named after Loki, so Loki’s significance to the day is forgotten. This campaign to call Saturday Lokisday seeks to reinforce Loki’s connection to the day. This is an interesting idea, and I will definitely attempt to use Lokisday as often as I can remember.

I was in Greenwich at the weekend having a goose at the vintage markets, two little comedy value gems above. I really wanted the Levi’s denim suit jacket, for all the formal events i go to ha, but in my current finical position i was priced out the game. i’m big on the lives tab though, regret not buying them, hocked all my money on a great pair of Levi’s Big E selvedge, a total bargain at £20, cant go wrong, i’ll post up a pic of them tonight.

the sunset today was so pretty, so I painted some stars inspired by it ⭐️
“I’ve been a 1911 fan all my life, so the whole idea of getting used to a striker-fired pistol was totally foreign to me. Then I won this Glock 30 in a sweepstakes. It may have started as a stock G30, but after a LOT of customizing, it’s much more! Jagerwerks milled the slide with the cool windows and angled cocking serrations up front, plus the slot in back for a Trijicon RMR red dot sight (to be added later - Jagerwerks Carbon Kap covers the slot for now). The frame stippling was done by Scottsdale Tactical. There’s a Vickers Tactical extended mag release and slide stop, Trijicon HD Tritium night sights, and a Zev Tech Fulcrum Ultimate Trigger. ALL the internal parts have been polished to make this Glock one smooth operator. I’d like to upgrade the barrel next, but none of the aftermarket barrels I’ve seen are quite right for this particular Glock. “This old double-barreled shotgun was given to me by the family of a fellow who had recently passed away. There was a problem with it, though. It had no stock. But I happened to have an old M1 Garand rifle stock on my bench at the time, and I started thinking… Why not the put the shotgun in the Garand stock? Got out my tools, including files, sandpaper, Brownells Acraglas, and some stain, and set to work. I’m pretty pleased with my first attempt at stock making. Not only did it turn out great, but it shoulders naturally, so you’re looking right down the barrel, as if I had fitted a shotgun before! There’s even room behind the trapdoor in the buttplate to store a spare shell. It’s now my favorite shotgun! The Reconciliation zones during WYD
At the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki, the Jordan Park and St. Mary’s Basilica will be located zones of Reconciliation. WYD participants will be able to confess to more than 100 additional confessionals.
