My Favorite Music of 2018
Hey all, and Happy New Year! I’ve tossed together another Spotify playlist of my favorite songs from this year. It was actually really difficult to narrow this down to 50, so it must have a been a good year for music! These are not ranked, FYI, just ordered for an optimal listening experience. -Aaron

Superorganism are probably the biggest mainstream band right now that come close to fitting the ‘Vaporwave Aesthetic’.
Their live shows are full of interesting, brightly coloured visuals and although it doesn’t necessarily fit the full aesthetic of Vaporwave artwork it could certainly considered close.
The music itself is clearly not Vaporwave though does share certain features. Electronic bass synths, plenty of sampling and a real focus on the electronic sound that is created by synths and kits etc
For any Vaporwave e fans it would be good to check them out! Realistically, probably the closest group that is similar to Vaporwave that will ever be mainstream
