One of the guards asked me why I wear sneakers instead of flip flops on the pool deck and I was so flustered by the question that I told her, “I don’t like my feet,” which… I’ve got weird feet, for sure, but like, I couldn’t say that I just don’t like flip flops? Or that it’s better for my back? Instead she now thinks I’m insecure about my feet. This is so tragic.
