8B pencil and watercolors
We’ve made this illustration for our new comic book so it can be offered with preorders. This time, we used a very grainy watercolor paper. It made the lines difficult to draw but added an interesting texture to the colors.
We wouldn’t use it for comics pages though: it would make tiny details nearly impossible to draw.
It’s very rare we use that kind of paper so it’s was an interesting experience.

Working on an animated trailer of our next comic book, The Shadow Festival. We use Unity for the complex camera movements in 3D. It’s fun to see our panels brought to life in a more cinematic way!
The different layers displayed in 3D space create a cool sense of depth. We’d love to print them on some thick paper and build little dioramas for real…
