i know some people are disappointed but think about this: bellamy and clarke are together, arms around each other, looking at the new world they have the opportunity to explore TOGETHER. they are TOGETHER. they have this kid, their friends’ kid, that knew stories like madi did. knew to wake BOTH of them up. only them. why? because monty and harper knew the only way to figuring out the new planet situation is with both of them awake. they knew theyre stronger together. and in my opinion, they recognize bellamy and clarke as the future. its not really about romance anymore. theyre beyond that. theyre hope. theyre the future. thats way more meaningful and powerful than a kiss or “i love you”. im not saying that stuff wont happen or to give up hope for it but im saying look beyond that. theres really no better way to end the season than with bellamy and clarke in each others’ arms looking at the future fully on the same side and together. the head and the heart.

Very occasionally I watch The Hug scene on Youtube, y’know, the one from TLD, I guess just to torture myself or something? Idk. Anyways.
I just watched it again and honestly, the actual physical feeling I get in my gut when I see it is unlike anything else. It’s almost like getting butterflies in one’s stomach, mixed with heartbreak and an unforgiving want.
I know that sounds dramatic, but how fucked up is it that a scene of two men embracing still makes me simultaneously want to weep tears of sadness, anger, and joy all at once, after over TWO YEARS?
Martin and Ben played them as being in love. Steven and Mark wrote them as being in love, whether they realize it or not, no matter how much they try to deny it.
I see that Hug and I see everything that the actors and writers gave us, as well as everything we were not given but instead were denied. I see the Hug and I see love that is so real and tangible and strong, but at the same time love that is just out of reach, whispering to us, “we’re almost there.”
Why can’t we have nice things? We celebrated the Hug but were left hollow at the absence of a Kiss or an I Love You.
I’m sorry if this was a dramatic post, but the fact that I still emotionally and physically react to a 30 second long scene as much as I do so long after I first watched it has to be a bit not good. I loved the journey that BBC Sherlock took me on, but my heart has yet to settle for the destination they have left us at. Far from it.
