Herb’s into Zappa (specifically The Mothers’ “Just Another Band From L.A.” album)? That explains…pretty much nothing.

Picture, if you will, Point Place, Wisconsin.  The year is 1977.  A man and his son have just watched the man’s wife go angrily upstairs to sleep.  What they don’t know, and will soon find out, is that it’s the thirteenth (possibly in October) and they just forgot her birthday.  Red Forman picks up a TV Guide, but not just any TV Guide.  It’s a certain TV Guide with four guys from a semi-popular Cincinnati radio station.

This is from That ‘70s Show season 3, episode 17, titled “Kitty’s Birthday (That’s Today?!)” and it stunned me when I noticed it.  If you can’t see it too well in these images, here’s a closer look:

Despite the fact that the Forman scene takes place in 1977, and that issue didn’t come out until 1978, and the other fact that Red is looking at listings for the 13th, and the issue actually was for October 21-27 (hey, they got the month correct), this Easter Egg is pretty darn cool.

Here’s the scene in question:
