Okay so nonbinary lesbian discourse isn’t something I often get involved in but I have to say, the “you can’t be a nonbinary lesbian because lesbians are women” argument falls apart petty quickly when you actually start thinking of gender as a spectrum rather than a trinary.
Can demigirls be lesbians? Can nonbinary women be lesbians? What about genderfluid people who are sometimes women, sometimes not?
And the reason it falls apart is because when you actually think of gender as a spectrum, it means in order to exclude people from the definition of lesbianism, you have to have a cutoff point for the people you exclude. And a cutoff point is super hard to establish when you think of gender as the hugely variable thing it actually is.
Of course, the people who gatekeep nonbinary lesbians are the same people who would disagree with that and would, in fact, think of gender as a trinary instead of a binary. Which just goes to show that there is no way to exclude nonbinary lesbians without holding fundamentally exorsexist/enbyphobic views in general.
Anyways that was just my take, I’m not a lesbian although I am nonbinary so nonbinary lesbians please feel free to correct me/add to my post. Obviously the same applies to nonbinary gays but that discourse doesn’t really come up as often.
“Non-binary lesbian” is weird sounding wording, but it just means “sometimes gay and gender weird overlap and don’t easily come apart.”
It’s a word for the kind of person who hears “gender identity and sexual orientation are two different unrelated things!” and thinks “sure, *for you.*”
There is, as I’m sure you know already, a scandal in the community involving some creators tracking their content and doxxing those who share their paywalled cc. This is not only a despicable and unforgiveable act, it is actually a crime. It makes people nervous about Patreon, about cc in general and about creators they don’t know.
Rest assured that I would never do such a thing. I’m not here for the money. My approach is simply that what I create for myself, I share with the community. I’m not hunting for patreons and followers, but if anyone would like to show their support in this way, be sure that it would be perfectly safe - and appreciated!

I’m writing this to let everybody know where I stand and to know that it’s perfectly safe to download my files or even become a patreon if you should wish to do so. My reason for using Patreon in the first place was mainly that SFS was very unstable and I needed a free place to put my files. Patreon seemed to be a good alternative, and I started doing Early Access, since most other creators did. However, I found it to be pointless and just extra work, so I decided to skip it. It is not against my principle or anything, and it’s not unthinkable that I might do EA again someday in the future, but not now.
Actually, at the moment I’m not even creating, because I’ve been busy with my story, and I don’t like to multitask. I do have some ideas on paper that I hope to realize, so I hope to have something in a not too distant future.

what really tipped me off though is that he calls himself “a dracula”, which, yes, could just be referring to a person belonging to house dracula, but dracula is also the romanian word for dragon, and according to some legends dragons can take the shape of a human at will

By the way, for the record - I’m not going on about this NFT thing because I hate Colin now or have some kind of agenda. I don’t. He’s doing a thing I don’t like and won’t support. Myonlyinterest here is helping to make sure that people know what exactly this is, to do my bit so that hopefully any decision they make is an informeddecision. (Personally, I know just enough about crypto and NFTs to know that I’m a target for being tricked, because I don’t know as much as the people who do the tricking, so I’m staying the hell away from it all.) I just don’t want anyone to get taken advantage of, or involved in something they don’t really understand. I’ve seen it happen to people with MLMs and it’s just never good so, yeah, that’s my intention here.
I’m also honestly super proud of the way the fandom, at least from what I’ve seen, has been about this. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, but not to the point of blindly going along with it once it was clear that it’s dodgy. Looking into it and listening and being open to information, even if the results weren’t what you want to find when it comes to your fave. That’s not easy and I hope everyone’s giving themselves credit for it.
Also hey, I know the opinions about Colin himself might differ a bit at this point but just, maybe we can remember that everyone reacts differently to upsetting revelations and people are allowed to grieve or be angry or insist that he’s still a good person and one mistake doesn’t undo all the good he’s done. People are allowed to unfollow or rant or tell him what they think or distract themselves with lots of pictures or revisit their favourite memories or joke or obsessively research the issue or whatever else they need to do to handle this, as long as they aren’t bothering anyone else.

Brachycephalic (smashed-in-face) cats are bad enough because their skulls are deformed and they can’t breathe properly. Scottish folds have folded ears because of a cartilage mutation that affects the animal’s whole body.
If it is causing the animal to suffer you shouldn’t intentionally breed more cats like that but this is an entire new level
So many new “cat breeds” are just combinations of multiple mutations that each affect the cat’s quality of life negatively
I don’t know if there are serious problems with hairlessness, but munchkin cats shouldn’t be a thing. A disabled cat is one thing, but there are ethical problems with making more disabled cats on purpose
It is a naturally occurring mutation that was made into a breed. All munchkin cats are descended in some way from a single cat with this mutation (though that’s not the only time it’s known to have happened). So it is the product of selective breeding in that if people didn’t breed them on purpose, there would be only a small handful of them if any
this is in no way directed at nogoodnikolai (I never want to discourage questions or curiosity), but the phrase ‘naturally occurring mutation’ is a pet peeve of mine.
there’s a natural occurring mutation in goats that causes them to be born inside out. ‘natural’ does not equal ethical or healthy, it just means that it happens outside of human interference. besides which, a mutation stops being naturally occuring the moment humans decide to selectively propagate it, which is the case for the munchkin gene.
also just a note about the Scottish Fold, and many apologies to headspace-hotel if this is a misreading on my part*, but their face shape is actually alright! it’s definitely Brachycephalic, meaning shorter than average, but not extreme enough to cause any harm at this point. I only say this because Scottish Straights, with the same face shape, are a breed I want to encourage as a healthy alternative to the Scottish Fold. Maru the box cat is a famous example of this breed!

it’s the Persian/Exotic/Himalayan family of cats that has an extreme enough Brachycephaly to cause damage to the brain, eyes, teeth, and respiration. seriously, this is like body horror to me.
there was a clinical study that compared normal cats, brachycephalic cats (specifically doll-faced Persians, which are at a similar brachycephaly to Scottish Folds), and extremely flat-faced Persians. the normal cats and doll-faced Persians were clinically sound, but the extreme Persians….. I don’t know how anyone can read those results and not want legal consequences to fall on the folk who continue breeding them. I’ll put it under a readmore, because it’s a bit disturbing.

I work in pet insurance. I’m in sales, I speak to people with puppies and kittens, and all I hear are the horror stories of people’s previous pets.
This? This whole thing? Is a FRACTION of the reality of MOST pet owners. These conditions, these breed specific hereditary issues, crop up so much that most pet insurances just straight up exclude all hereditary conditions.
If you’ve never had a dog, like me, you don’t realise just how much people are dropping on pets on the regular. You have a (any big breed)? Look out, known for bad hips and cruciate issues. Oh, one cruciate ligament gone? $8,000. And you know what they say - one cruciate goes, the other’s not far off. And remember, that’s hereditary, so unless you knew to look for that cover 3 years ago your expensive insurance won’t cover dick!
I constantly hear about dogs with lifelong skin infections (any squash face dog), dogs with chronic illnesses with medications costing $600/month, and almost every single big dog is going to have hip problems, that’s non negotiable.
We have bred these issues in, and most people don’t realise because if it happens after the dog is, say.. six? Most people just put them down. So sad, unavoidable, everyone feels bad for the poor owner :( oh well time to save up for a new member of the faaaamily… I saw the cutest pug x frenchie puppies on Ebay the other day!

Is this really typical!? My dog Cassie is an awkward looking large-ish (50lbs) mutt too well blended to distinguish what she might be made of, but she’s 7 years old and the only health problems of any kind she’s had so far were the mites and kennel cough she caught at the shelter we adopted her from. There’s been little change in her activity levels or anything as she’s moved toward middle age.
Why would you breed animals whose bodies fall apart like that? I don’t think that’s inevitable at all.
I think a lot of breed specific health issues come from really long ago, before we knew how to test for genetics or anything and generally you just kind of bred for what looked good. Like, in the 1880′s, when Doberman pinschers were made, it’s not really like you can test for heart disease, and it’s not like people back then were always worried about it if a dog died at age 7, so naturally you just might accidentally inbreed in baked in defects to the whole breed, like 60% of them having dilated cardiomyopathy. I’d imagine most invisible dog breed problems relate back to that we’ve been dog breeding for centuries and only fairly recently did we actually know how to test for it, so naturally breeds are going to carry the history of that.

I do soil analysis for a living and one time one of my co-workers called me “the dirt fairy” (I work overnights and they often come in to find all the projects done before they get here) and I just deadpanned “Yeah, I’ll take that. Do people realize they don’t have to go to pride? Like, there is absolutely no legal obligation for you to go to pride. If the thought of seeing a leather man or someone in a harness or a pup makes makes you so uncomfortable you want to weep, just don’t go. If you don’t think you’ll feel safe there, don’t go. Stay the fuck home. It’s okay to not go to pride. Doesn’t matter if you have sensory issues or trauma or whatever, it’s your fucking decision, dude. Stop arguing with people on the internet and think “hmm, maybe I shouldn’t go to a pride parade, maybe that is a situation I can’t handle” and then avoid it like a sane, rational, and mature adult.
Pride is loud. It’s often crowded. There are many, many, people there doing their own thing. You cannot control them. You cannot predict how they will act. If this bothers you, don’t go. I’m autistic. There are certain environments I cannot enter and instead of saying they need to shut down the club or turn the lights on, I just don’t go.
I haven’t been to Pride in years. I love it. I support it. I am grateful it happens. But the environment? It is draining for me. I’ve been to Pride in San Francisco. I’ve been to Pride in NYC. I’m good.
