June is Pride Month, a time for the LGBTQ community to celebrate the civil liberties that were never guaranteed for us, but which we gained; to honor those who fought for those liberties; and to remember that the road to equality – not just tolerance – stretches as far out ahead of us as it courses behind us.
This year, COVID-19 took Pride off the calendar, but our nation’s president took away its spirit by erasing healthcare protections against discrimination for transgender folk.
Hi all. A few days ago, my friend, Keyes,was returning home from the hospital after surgery when he was attacked by a group of teens. They started throwing rocks at him, yelling homophobic slurs, and they urinated on his porch. He managed to get away but they’ve continued to pose a threat. Police are aware of what’s going on, and are monitoring the situation, but there’s not much they can do at the moment.
Attacks like this have happened to him before. He’s had such a difficult few months, and was in the process of getting to the bottom of some chronic health issues when this attack happened. The money he was going to use to pay for specialist/doctors’ visits was instead going to be used for new security measures for his house: cameras, an alarm, tamper-proof windows, etc.
I really, really don’t want him to have to choose between his health and his safety, so I’ve started a Go Fund Me to help pay for those security measures he needs, AND hopefully raise some extra funds to pay for future doctor visits. He’s just had one crisis after another, all of which are outside of his control. I love him to pieces, and I know so many other people do, too.

Got this horse shirt on the women’s side of H&M and may I say I was OVERWHELMED over there. So many cute clothes and I didn’t even know where to start. This horse shirt is so ugly that it’s cute and my chest is so flat that I don’t really care what clothes I’m wearing. I look GOOD
