my professor today (bar the chalk) had major trent vibes. those clothes, the accessories…

instantcaramel:

But what if the series finale of Ted Lasso is just 45 mins of Beard and Trent confessing their undying love for each other and then eloping

I finally think I’m doing ok and all it takes is one picture of James Lance on the set of Ted Lasso in Amsterdam to send me back into my Tedtrent delusions

flowerfan2:

Chapter 6 of Where’d You Get Those Shoes is up on A03.  It’s the continuing story of Ted and Trent after the events of season 2.

Read from the beginning here.

Read the rest on A03.

This is delightful!

Chapter 2 is here - and with it, a bit more h/c and vampire-related angst…  Read from the beginning on A03.

*****

Trent sits calmly at their table, waiting for Ted to return from the men’s room.  He thinks their first date is going quite well.  Ted seems to be enjoying the Spanish wine bar Trent selected, and they’ve spent several hours here, eating tapas and drinking a quite delicious malbec.

Trent had been holding his breath, metaphorically, after he ordered the wine, afraid that Ted would make some joke about him drinking red wine instead of blood.  But he should have known that Ted had a better social barometer than that.  Ted’s always been able to tell what topics he could tease Trent about, and the introduction of a whole new range of vampire-related possibilities hasn’t changed that.

“Miss me, Oprah Winfrey?”  Ted sits down across from Trent and smirks happily at him.  The wine has made him loose and comfortable, and Trent smiles easily back.

“How, exactly, am I like Oprah Winfrey?”

“Well, first, let me say that the rhyme works just fine and dandy whether or not there’s any similarity between the rhyme and the, um, rhyme-ee.  But second,” Ted pauses for just a second, and Trent can almost see his lightning-quick mind searching for a clever response, “you interview folks for a living, like Oprah -  although I think you’re better at asking tough questions.  That lady doesn’t serve a good follow-up nearly as well as you do.”

Trent passes on the fact that he is not actually interviewing anyone for a living at the moment, and lets himself enjoy Ted’s praise.  “Perhaps I just never wanted our conversations to end,” he says, making a show of fluttering his eyelashes in Ted’s direction.

“You and me both, Trent,” Ted says, with that breathtaking sincerity that throws Trent off course every time.

What happens in Las Vegas definitively does not stay in Las Vegas.

Ooooh, wheee! What’s up with that?! What’s up with THAT?!

If true that these documents were from Jason Sudeikis’ legal team, surely they know Wilde’s schedule as (I would assume) she would let Jason or his assistant know of her schedule so she could be reached if something arises concerning their kids. There are better places to serve her than her presentation. Hell, even as she’s departing the stage would be a better time.

Update

-Shoe game too strong.

I know people felt like Trent Crimm, formerly of The Independent did the journalism community a disservice by burning his source but editing an article after it has been printed and not adding a disclaimer or adding that the article has been edited is also shady boots. This is about you, Teddington Nub News.

Teddington News journo Stuart Higgins interviewed TED LASSO’s Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard) on June 1st. The notable thing about the article is that Hunt confirmed that series three would be the last for the show.

That led fans to shout, cry and rend their garments. However, the article was reposted with an edit to Hunt’s remarks and no further clarification from the writer about the prior article.

I’m just going to work on the assumption that series three is, indeed, the final season and they want to do a formal statement instead. What also makes me thinks this is the end is that Nick Mohammed had a video interview recently and the interviewer asked him what he believed about TED LASSO and amongst his responses, one was, “All good things come to an end.” Then he quickly added, “Who knows if this time around is the last time.”

We’re still knee-deep in awards season. While the U.S. has had to watch pre-recorded virtual TED LASSO panels or Zoom interviews,

the UK will get an in-person Q&A on June 12th moderated by Trent Crimm. No, not by James Lance, but Lance in character as Trent Crimm.

On June 14th in New York Juno Temple will be on the panel for her Paramount+ limited series THE OFFER. Joining her on the panel will be costars Miles Teller, Matthew Goode and their showrunner Nikki Toscano.

Series 3 of TED LASSO is halfway done with shooting

and as we are deep in the For Your Consideration period for the Emmys, cast members are doing interviews. There have been recent video interviews with an assortment of the cast and none have been very forthcoming about what series 3 will hold, but co-creator Brendan “Coach Beard” Hunt did say one thing.

Yes, 3 is the magic number for the show. Conceived as a three season show they creators are sticking to their guns and pulling a Willie Nelson : going out on a high!

But as Colin told Richard, “Smile because it happened.” I’m glad they are ending it as they intended. I really believe a fourth series would have made storytelling suffer a bit as the show was already written in their minds. Yes, they adjusted when inspiration struck, but they still had all the beats planned out. Another season would mean starting from scratch and I think it would have lost a bit of the magic.

As I wrote, it’s the FYC period and pre-pandemic the big games in town were always the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences events and Netflix and Amazon’s installations.

Netflix went big on SQUID GAME and STRANGER THINGS

The first full on FYC period since 2019 has found more players in the game with Apple+ and NBC Universal holding events.

NBCU’s FYC House is a great addition. They also had a pop-up at outdoor mall The Grove.

Apple+’s Grove pop-up that had booths and little treats from PACHINKO, SEVERANCE, WECRASHED, SCHMIGADOON and TED LASSO. They were out of pink boxed biscuits when I was there so I got Earl Grey tea with shortbread ice-cream.

As WB produces TED LASSO, WB is having their own event for the show under their WB Tour umbrella. I have had so many problems attempting to RSVP for the event that I assume it’s sold out and they just haven’t slapped a SOLD OUT notice on it. But I’m not too put out by it because it was a pre-recorded panel. Which is madness because people are schlepping through weekday traffic in BURBANK for something they should have just sent out links to people can watch at home. Not very Ted Lasso of them.

They are so funny for this. Trent Crimm surely to bring the heat!
