#nate shelley

LIVE

it’s about embracing yourself, even the things you thought humiliating (re: nate’s wonder kid shirt in this)

also about me having a thing for nick mohammed’s arms

i may be turning all the ted lasso characters on two separate wheels to decide who gets to smooch who but honestly, who can stop me?

spreading the nate/bex agenda to anyone i can, because it would be hilarious. rupert deserves to be cheated on. nate and bex deserve to get free from that asshole (hopefully exposing him in the process for the prick he is). and i think they’d look good together

“Makes no sense”? Believe in yourself bestie

so true

art block is clearly when i can sketch but can’t colour but anyway

you call this an obsession, i call it a study of lips

break from shitposting with regular shitposting. or is it? nah. still a work in progress but i like how it looks before i potentially ruin it with colours

manifesting a post-redemption/betterment/whatever the fuck happens mutual hug in season 3

You know, I get that Nate is a controversial character in a lot of ways, but at this point, as soon as I see someone equate Nate with Rupert Mannion and James Tartt, it’s going to be an instant block.

Nate is not, and never, has been the equivalent of those two characters.  Nate’s very clearly meant to be a parallel to Jamie and Rebecca.  Not Rupert or James.

Nate has done awful things.  So has Jamie Tartt.  So has Rebecca Welton.

He has hurt innocent people who didn’t deserve it.  So has Jamie Tartt.  So has Rebecca Welton.

He’s a victim of abuse.  Just like Jamie Tartt.   Just like Rebecca Welton.

We have seen him be warm, we have seen him be friendly.  We have seen him support his team and colleagues.  Just like Jamie Tartt.  Just like Rebecca Welton.

The show is not subtle about these parallels.  We meet these characters at different points in their arc, but it’s fundamentally the same arc.  They’re all good people, who have lost sight of themselves in the midst of their pain, and took it out on other people.

And it says something that fans are happy to forgive Rebecca and Jamie.  Hell, they were happy to forgive Jamie even before he had his season 2 arc where he redeems himself.  But Nate Shelley is irredeemable.

And it’s hard not to make a few assumptions as to why certain folks have made this distinction.

not Nate being mad about Ted not having their picture on his desk while Ted has it in his house NEXT TO HIS SONS picture this is SICK AND TWISTED

nate shelley doesn’t deserve a place in heaven thanks

me all of s2: the entire season is building up to Nate abandoning Richmond and coaching for rupert’s team
