For anyone who needs a “fix-it fic” in these dire times… here was my post-TLJ response to the fates of our favourite space couple and, in my opinion, a better (and smuttier) ending than what they got.

It’s quiet, finally.
Not just in the Falcon, not just in their bed, not just in the warmth and security of her arms.
But quiet…everywhere.
No longer does he have insidious whispers in his mind. The voices once so difficult to differentiate from his own.
Those voices of evil. Of hate. The ones that pushed and prodded him for his entire life into a reluctant existence of howling rage.
He’d always begged for silence. To be free of the burden of those voices, those pernicious and malevolent things.
He’d always known how good it would feel, the quiet.
Had always imagined how sweet and how right it would be.
What he hadn’t anticipated, couldn’t have possibly known, was the sheer perfection, this painfully poignant tenderness, of experiencing it in the arms of someone he loved.

Welp, this movie truly broke me – I’ve gone and written a fanfic, y’all. Well, sorta. More like a lost alternate ending, written in screenplay format since, you know, it’s a movie, lol.
Anyway, I woke up with this in my head and needed to get it out. No time to work out any finer details and minutiae, so forgive any errors. It’s cheesy but I DON’T CARE. I just hope it makes someone feel better.

My favorite thing to come from TROS so far is this writing from Kate. I love this ending; if the movie had ended like this, the series would have been so much better for it. Thank goodness for fandom.
Going to The Rise of Skywalker tag and seeing all the anti’s cry is honestly just a win, seeing as they trashed Reylo and said Rey had more chemistry with a guy she just met compared to Kylo…… like I’m still sooooo salty about the ending but like it’s a good day to be a Reylo
