Hi I just spent a really long time working on a post about Romans behaviour in SVS2 and it didn’t save so now I’m either going to rewrite the whole thing (it was a two parter) or jump off a building. Stay tuned.

Ok gonna take a stab at this because there’s a bit more here than meets the eye!

Hello! I’m back with another theory that probably reads way too much into things!

Today’s analysis is Janus’ Patreon art! I‘ll attempt to interpret the art based on what we know.

And what we know is that Janus runs the Patreon page! So that means that Janus is behind the eerie style and aesthetic of the art!

Based on that, we can actually interpret that the designs are all Janus’ point of view! Meaning that each piece is how he interprets the sides!

And we can come to the conclusion that what Janus sees in all the sides is the things they want to hide about themselves. He is the liar, he knows when they lie.

So, let’s take a quick look at each piece!

DISCLAIMER! All art is available to everyone on the Patreon page! This is not exclusive Patreon art. You can see it all here for free!

All theories are my own interpretation & can be interpreted in any other way, this is merely guessing based on what I know. Feel free to add to this.

All art credit goes to James von Hollen and Thomas Sanders

I hope you enjoyed reading my theories!!

This. I love this. Its such a solid take, and perfectly described for every side.

I’m gonna be honest, I haven’t seen the illustrations for the sides themselves before, but here’s my take

All your theories just make sense even when analyzing the sides themselves.

We know Logan sees himself as very smart, often making comments about being smarter than the others, and it would just make sense for him to not like the aspect of not knowing something.

We literally got a whole episode and little scenes about Patton writing off the bad emotions to keep the good ones. He’s literally closing his heart away while still trying to be as open as possible. And I think the heart being in Glas just makes so much sense like you said! It’s protected but everyone can still see it clear.

Personally I like Roman’s one the most! It’s such a big contrast to just everything about him but at the same time it describes him perfectly. A big crown for a big ego, on a pillow to be protected, like you said. But yes, we know he and Remus were one side once, which means it just makes sense for one to still have “something” of the other. Honestly I love how that was illustrated!

I honestly think Virgil’s looks the most unsettling. I don’t know, something about the button eyes and the way it’s just, sitting, there gives me a weird vibe. But honestly, that just fits to Virgil again, doesn’t it? Yes he is accepted, and the lights sides all are friends with him, but at the same time, there’s more to Virgil than we know, that also being shown as the “do not touch” part, Virgil doesn’t really open up about anything unless it’s essential to Thomas. And that’s the whole point of anything with a do not touch sign, only open in emergencies.

Ahh, Remus’ one is very cool, very very cool. Just like his character! A locked box means something is chosen to be hidden, check, exactly what’s up with remus character and why he was introduced so late. The box is slowly opening, a hand grabbing for the key, which like you said, maybe Janus put there, which would make a lot of sense. We know Janus is the main factor of stuff being hidden from Thomas, and in Forbidden fruit we got to know that Janus was the one to tell Remus about Thomas wanting to be honest with himself and no longer hiding the “ugliness within himself”, Janus basically “opened” the way for Remus to appear in the Video and wreak havoc, here being shown in something breaking out of the box. Something I find very peculiar about this one tho, is that Roman’s illustration has a lot to do with Remus, the crown is black and there’s a green star. But Remus’ illustration has nothing to do with Roman. This might show that Janus knows about Roman still being emotionally connected to the split, and Remus just not, which would make sense for their personalities! Roman’s creativity is very “child like” but long term, stuff Thomas dreams about for a long time, ideas he has for now and the future, but Remus’ creativity is the complete opposite, “gruesome” and short term, very in the moment thoughts that come and go in seconds time.

And yes, Janus just showing parts of himself, meaning he doesn’t want you to see everything, it makes perfect sense. Until recently we thought Janus was a “villain”, until he revealed his name and showed a more playful side to himself. He’s a liar, he knows how to set an image of oneself to others, I mean he tried to impersonate the others! He knows how to act to get a certain reaction out of someone, and him not showing everything of himself just makes perfect sense.

So yes, I think your theories make perfect sense and I really like them :>
