Hazel Blears was born in 1956 in Salford, England. Blears was a Member of Parliament from 1997 until 2015. She was Chair of the Labour Party from 2006 until 2007, Police and Counter Terrorism Minister from 2003 until 2006, and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government from 2007 until 2009. Blears was appointed to the Intelligence and Security Committee in 2010.
