About 2.5 million light-years away, the Andromeda Galaxy, also known as M31, really is our galactic neighbour. Spanning about 230,000 light-years, it took 11 different image fields from NASA’s Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) satellite telescope to produce this gorgeous portrait of the spiral galaxy in ultraviolet light in 2003. Its spiral arms stand out in visible light images, Andromeda’s arms are sites of intense star formation. They have been interpreted as evidence that Andromeda collided with its smaller neighboring elliptical galaxy M32 more than 200 million years ago. The Andromeda galaxy and our own comparable Milky Way galaxy are the most massive members of the Local Group of galaxies and are projected to collide in several billion years – perhaps around the time that our Sun’s atmosphere will expand to engulf the Earth.

I know that you may have some questions, so here comes the context:
Tsukki is a fashion designer. He uses Yamaguchi to try differents styles of clothes that for obvious reasons he can’t use. He doesn’t know much about him besides he’s smart, can understand his words even if he doesn’t talk too much, and that he’s looking for someone.

Released by Ocean Software Ltd in 1988, Batman: The Caped Crusader was the second computer/video game to utilize the Batman license Ocean Software acquired from DC comics in 1986.
Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns (1986) revitalized the Batman franchise which suddenly turned Batman into a serious contender as a merchandising gold mine for DC comics. I don’t know if Ocean Software heard of the upcoming Batman film in the works and decided to pick up the license before it became a hot property, or if they were in the right place at the right time and the cards just fell in to place. The former would not surprise me.
As you have probably guessed from the ad, Batman’s main antagonists in this game are the Penguin and the Joker. Including the Joker was more or less a no-brainer since he is the pen-ultimate Batman villain (also: Moore’s Batman: the Killing Joke was published in 1988), but I’m kind of stumped as to why the Penguin was selected to be the second villain. I guess he was a popular character at the time?
The game itself was well-received by fans. It was pretty innovative in terms of game-play: the player had to solve the mission by finding items in-game and then make them interact with the correct in-game components - all while dodging villains and other obstacles. If you were old enough to remember owning this game, you probably also remember the interface was set up so that it looked like Batman was entering a new comic book panel every time he entered a new in-game area.
Another detail of the game that may resonate some nostalgia with old microprocessor owners is that Batman: The Caped Crusader was released on a magnetic tape for the 8-bit and 16-bit processors of the day. Side A of the magnetic tape had the game where you battled the Penguin, and side B contained the more difficult game where you had to battle the Joker.
The art for this ad came from BobWakelin.Wakelin was a UK artist who illustrated many covers for UK comic books in the 1980s. Coincidentally, Wakelin also created the famous ‘Ocean’ logo for Ocean Software Ltd (visible in this ad).
I don’t believe this ad appeared in any DC publications, just computer gaming/hobbyist magazines.

why do people assume autism means below average intelligence?
Ava never gets invited on playdates. None of the moms who befriended me during pregnancy, all of us due within mere weeks of each other, have ever made any effort to get to know my child. They like my updates about her achievements on Facebook, and that is the extent of their involvement. I don’t need their approval, I don’t need their friendship. I do need them, and everyone else to understand a few things about my child. Autism is different for every person on the spectrum. For my daughter, that means shes behind her peers in social and emotional categories. Her language skills aren’t as advanced as theirs.
BUT
That also means that even though Ava isn’t even three yet she:
Can correctly identify all the letters of the alphabet, say them and the sounds they make.
Identifies *almost* any animal, and if she doesn’t know one she only needs to be told once to remember the name.
Can count and identify numbers 1-20
Knows all her colors, she even knows the difference between blue and cyan.
Knows almost all the shapes including rhombus, hexagon, pentagon and parallelogram.
This is not the extent of her knowledge. She is insanely intelligent and far more advanced than her peers in these ways. She blows us all away day after day. But yet there are people out there who will write her off immediately based off her diagnosis and their failure to understand what Autism really is. There are people who will never encourage their kids to get to know her.
All I can hope for is her happiness, and that she makes friends that understand her and accept her for everything that makes her, her.
