@the-disgruntled-vcmentionedhere that this scene from QOTD would work well visually and I very much agree! it’s a very soft and romantic (and Romantic - they are smooching next to louis’ grave after leaving the burnt-out mess of their old flat and the ghost of their murdered daughter…) moment, and if you steadfastly give the book’s final scene the middle finger like I do, their trip to new orleans beautifully closes their relationship arc with them both letting go of their toxic mess of a marriage and starting a new beginning as better people, as they literally fly off into the sunsetnight…

I know that Lestat supposedly gives up on rockstar life after quotd but… as if he would??? you KNOW he’s gonna be coasting on that fame for as long as he can, and you know what that means? formalwear.red carpet events! PAP PHOTOS OF HIM AND HIS TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME BEAU!!! for official events Louis will only go as Lestat’s date on the condition that he gets to pick his own outfit, which Lestat allows on the condition that Louis at least tries to match.
Lestat gets invited to some awards ceremony in the 2010s and is absolutely fucking delightedas the media loses their shit trying to figure out how this man who should be in his fifties still looks like he’s twenty (the going theory is that the record company keeps killing him off and replacing him with younger guys), and each time he’s asked Lestat just laughs and says “duh, I’m a vampire”. every now and then Lestat will get the singing bug again and pose as his own tribute act - and then when he gets bored of it Daniel helps him stage his own death.
1794. Pointe du Lac lies in ashes. Lestat, desperate to keep Louis with him at any cost, tries something he’s never tried before: he talks.
day thirty is a fic I have promoted with art before but THAT’S BECAUSE IT’S REALLY FUCKIN GOOD GUYS. It’s all about these two idiots learning how to COMMUNICATE and also discovering that being vulnerable can be Okay and also that actually… they can really enjoy each other’s company! Essentially is has everything you could want in a “bad relationship grows to be healthy” fic and I love it so much.
so I saw this post of Loustat moments from the musical and that bottom middle gif - where Lestat pauses mid-conversation to lean in and kiss Louis on the shoulder, like a lil boop with his mouth???? - was so fucking soft I just had to have a go at drawing it myself. one thing the musical did really well was how much these two toucheach other, because I absolutely see Lestat as a very touchy-feely guy and I’m pretty sure that it’s canon. @ the maybe-one-day tv show TAKE NOTES.
Louis really, really wants to be mad at Lestat’s tendency to lounge all over his desk when he wants attention (which is always), but, well… neckline. also Lestat remembered he doesn’t like coffee and made him tea instead.

yes, like 99% of the time it’s Lestatwho’s the clingy whiny baby, but seeing as it’s canon that Louis isn’t a “morning person”, I like to think that a lot of nights Lestat has to fight to extricate himself from his literal dead weight of a cuddle octopus husband, which is particularly difficult when said husband is usually the big spoon. Lestat doesn’t mind at all, but he’s not above posting the evidence in the group chat…
