Finally got to share my 1/6 Scale DW9 Xiahou Dun figure from RingToys. I pre-ordered this in January of 2020, and it showed up at the end of January this year (the damn release date kept on getting pushed back).
Instead of just shooting the photos in my office or taking it to a location to do a photo shoot, my husband, RisingFox made the CG environments we composited them over.
Yup, so I took the photos in front of a black backdrop, vectored him out from the original background, and my husband made the CG environments in Blender and comped them behind him. After that, I made additional edits (adding embers, effects, and lighting). Visit my DA post for more info.

1/6 Xiahou Dun figurebyRingToys showed up the day before my birthday; it came with a postcard too. This thing came under packaging over packaging (and friggin huge)
Got him out of the box today and assembled him (it was a pain in the ass to put the sword in his hand ). Planning on taking some pictures over the weekend and posting them next week at the earliest. Gonna have to order the lighted display case later.
I pretty much spent my birthday evening assembling him and trying to figure out how I want to do the photo shoot of him. Might have to use the black backdrop (which I never used). Good thing my birthday’s on Friday this year… that means I can actually celebrate it the way I want tomorrow.

I know it’s late, but a little Christmas present for myself. Got these Jia Xu (Dynasty Warriors 9) keychains from Japan. Glad they arrived before the end of the year. ❤
