“I feel like Dominique is severely underrated in this fandom. I get she hasn’t had many appearances, but especially after ch46 she’s an incredibly compelling character. All we saw before was her “love” for Noé. But now we know that everything about her stems from heavily implied mental abuse from her family, the trauma of having her brother die in front of her, only to learn he was her twin, and that, in her eyes, she was basically the reason he was tossed aside by their family. And the subtle hints before this about how she wore Louis’s clothes and cut her hair after his death, like in chapter 7, when Noe mentions her teaching him how to dance, but it shows what looks to be Louis instead. I feel like yes, she is on some level in love with Noé, but it seems more like she’s latched on to the only person in her life that’s still alive who has ever treated her with any sort of genuine kindness. And her relationship with Jeanne is more proof of how she is, because even though she would typically view her as a “rival,” like Dante says, she’s incredibly protective of her, and attached, instead. This is because, like Noé, she’s one of the only people in her life to ever treat her with genuine respect and kindness. And, unlike Noé, Jeanne has no connection to Louis, doesn’t even know of him, and views Domi separately from both her noble family and her twin. Thus, Domi latches on to her, dotes on her, because it’s all she knows how to do in response to such kindness. Domi, deep down, has a desire to be able to love and be loved, and in a way that’s incredibly human to me. She’s like a ticking time bomb, in a sense, because she’s spent so long repressing each and every negative emotion, because she feels like she has to, or she’s worthless. If she can’t be Noé’s replacement for Louis, in her mind, she’s nothing. If she can’t live up to her family’s expectations, she only has Noé and Jeanne left to give her some sense of worth. I’m incredibly excited to learn more about her, because we haven’t seen her parents, or even the deeper reasons of why she’s so terrified of her own family. I’m dying to know why she’s like this, what her family is really like, and how she’s going to develop.“

“I actually really like what we’ve found out so far about Vanitas’s backstory. It explains alot of his skills (like playing the organ) and I feel like it’s going to come into play again later in the story“

“It’s not even happening yet, but I’m already in pain just thinking about that Jeanne might die and then Vanitas being killed off by Noé. Louis’ death was already heartbreaking for me, and everyone’s backstory made me cry. More tears and suffering to come I guess…“

“Honestly all the discussion about what people should or shouldn’t ship or discussion like “this character is bad, cruel, unhealthy etc.” going on in the fandom make me feel uneasy when it comes to posting my vnc fanarts/fanfics. In the last six months I posted nothing related to vnc in order to avoid stupid but aggressive lectures about what I must/mustn’t like, and subsequestly draw and share, according to tumblr blogs I care nothing about in the very first place. I am now thinking of leaving this fandom as the majority of content creators who posted in the vnc tags already did since ship wars and hate is increasing. Also it’s annoing to read that you can’t understand why there are no artists engaging with the vnc fandom. You must be blind not to know why. Artists wish to express themselves freely. Either leave them their space or enjoy your empty hall of sadness. Thanks.“

“I am a bit annoyed by the sudden change on VOTBM hairstyle. She resemble Faustina more with those short strands of hair. Personally I feel like VOTBM and Faustina already resembled each other enough without them and this change make me  fear they are going to be relatives which would truly make me feel disappointed.“

“Do VaNoe shippers realize their ship will become incest if it turns out Noe is VotBM’s son? VotBM has adopted both Vanitas + Misha, Mochijun has clearly written it as Vanitas + Misha being VotBM’s children.  MochiJun has also clearly set it up so that Vanitas associates VotBM with motherhood, and views them as a mother. Noe being VotBM’s son would make the ship incest. This isn’t even funny, turning a m/m ship with romantic subtext all over it into incest is just so unbelievably homophobic.“

“People who get upset because Noe and Vanitas are more popular than the female characters are so strange to me. The two of them are protagonists of the story, they are always going to be significantly more popular, get more content, and get more screen time, than the ENTIRE cast, not just the women.“

“Noe and Vanitas height difference is really cute and I love it“

“i’m starting to wonder if there’s any relevance to vani’s hourglass earring outside of the more obvious memento mori concept (because to me, his name, earring, and being doomed to die from ch1 ISN’T VERY SUBTLE). i just can’t help but wonder if it means anything because of that art someone else was talking about, where luna’s gripping him and he looks resigned. while it’s probably more likely for it to not mean anything, the fact that she’s holding the earring on a chain like that is strange to me. he wears it all the time, and presumably got it from her… so WHY does he wear it? i don’t even have a theory for this. i’m just suspicious. you never know what’s gonna be important later with mochijun, i guess.“

“I don’t understand people who say that VaniJeanne is unhealthy and therefore their other ships are better. The dark aspects of the ship is one reason why I love it! The blood drinking with dubious consent, the death pact and the initial hatred is fun and hot to me. If I wanted pure and healthy then I wouldn’t be shipping VaniJeanne. Pure and healthy is boring.“

“Everyone’s been going under the assumption  that the reason votbm drank vanitas and misha’s blood was to turn them into their kin, but it’s never said that to make someone your kin it’s required to drink their blood or even mark them.
