5/52 Hike Challenge:
Chirico Trail up to Poo Poo point
It was a good hike, and I’m very inspired to go paragliding now, but I’m not satisfied enough with any of the pictures I got to post one
I’ve decided this year to attempt the 52 hike challenge
My first hike of the challenge was up to Dirty Harry’s Peak
And somehow I always forget that Mt Si kicks my ass until I’m half way up it and it just keeps getting steeper
8/52 Hike Challenge: Kendall Peak Trail
Fiiiinally pleased with some of my work!
We only hiked out to the first lookout area so it was only about a 7 mile hike instead of the total 14 that it could’ve been but it was really fun. The trail is pretty packed down so snowshoes weren’t necessary but it looked like it would be fun to snowboard down.
We also found a cool snow tunnel dug into a drift. It had two whole rooms dug out which was pretty awesome.

Loowit Trail | Day 2 | 7/21/20 | 10 Miles
The second day on trail started early after a night of cowboy camping under the stars. This was the first night of the year that I hadn’t set up my shelter and it was amazing. The stars were out and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.
It started to get quite warm early on, so I’m glad that I started the hike early as I climbed around the mountain above tree line.
I’m looking forward to doing this trail again soon, I’ll probably head back out there in the fall.

Loowit Trail | Day 1 | 7/20/20 | 20 Miles
I was excited to get out on the Loowit Trail after hearing about it earlier in the Spring. I love the Timberline Trail and the Wonderland Trail, so being able to circumnavigate Mt. St. Helens was really exciting.
The trail leads you across all different types of terrain. I hiked through forests, giant boulder fields, alpine, sandy mountainside above all vegetation, silty rivers, and lava fields. The trail was hot and exposed and water was scarce but the views were spectacular.
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera’s memory card, which I realized about a mile and a half into the hike. So not wanting to turn around, I carried the camera the whole way and had to rely on my phone for pictures.
