#washio tatsuki
Washio, at the National Team’s introductory meet and greet dinner (assume they were allowed to bring plus-ones and Komori and Suna dragged him along):
Washio, toasting the National Team Moms: To Ojiro-san, Yaku-san, Iwaizumi-san, I have this to say.
Washio, gesturing to Bokuto, Suna, and Komori: I’ve done my time. You have released me. This monster is yours now.
Ok, so, imagine how intense MSBY vs. EJP games would be.
Like we have Bokuto vs. Washio, Atsumu vs. Suna, and Sakusa vs. Komori. MSBY vs. EJP: Family Feud.
(how much you wanna bet that Akaashi and Osamu are dying of laughter in the audience/onigiri stand? alternatively, Osamu having a mild crisis over who to support. On one hand, Atsumu is his lifelong companion and twin brother. On the other hand, Atsumu is a bastard and Suna is his… soulmate? while Akaashi just gazes at Bokuto. he respects and appreciates Washio but come on. did he memorize a list of 37+ of Washio’s weaknesses and ways to make him feel better and draw out his full potential? did he choose a high school based on watching Washio play? did he call Washio a star?)
A volleyball team’s not complete without:
An owl
A fox
And a weasel
(I am aware that the above emoji is absolutely not a weasel, but it was the closest thing I could find.)
GUYS
HE’S HERE
HE’S FINALLY HERE
Furudate-sensei’s little one-liners / Q&As from the final Haikyuu guidebook! Of course I must collect them all! LET’S GO!!!
*AS ALWAYS I’m still learning the language and cannot guarantee complete accuracy!
Character Comments
Bokuto Kotaro: Probably the only one in the entire story who isn’t influenced by Hinata.
Akaashi Keiji: At first, I thought he would play the role of someone who keeps Bokuto in line, but he himself needs someone to keep him in line too. [the word “tsukkomi” is used here]
Konoha Akinori: He’s the type whose excellence you don’t immediately notice, but he’s well-liked by everyone.
[only commented on three characters from Fukurodani, sorry ]
Given Name Origins
Note: This is kind of from the perspectives of the parents, since given names are like a wish for the child’s future. Will make more sense if you know what their names mean.
Bokuto Kotaro: I want him to be a person who illuminates his surroundings.
Akaashi Keiji: He inherited one character from each of his parents’ names. [kind of explains why he has relatively unique kanji for a fairly common name]
Konoha Akinori: He inherited one character from each of his parents’ names.
Washio Tatsuki: He inherited one character from his grandpa.
Sarukui Yamato: To become a gentle / calm person.
Komi Haruki: To become a lively / active child.
Onaga Wataru: To be able to connect with many different people.
Tiny Q&A
Q: Which character did you most enjoy drawing?
Bokuto. Because his [degree of] volatility is huge.
Q: As the name “Fukurodani Academy Group” suggests, is it safe to say Fukurodani is the main leader of training camps and the like?
Absolutely. 1982 was the start of their joint training camps, at first only with Shinzen High. Nekoma and Ubugawa started participating after that.
Q: Which character’s post-graduation path did you have the most trouble with?
I didn’t have any trouble.
Now Kiss (Part 1?)
I have a doc that’s just these sketches of kisses for when I just want to draw something soft, so maybe more to come.
I love them your honor
⚡️✌️ EJP Raijin ✌️⚡️
I haven’t drawn HQ in a while!! Initially I just drew Komori because I wanted a new Komori pfp for my side Twitter account, but I love Team Middle-Parted Hair ha ha
