I really love fall with all its rain, and colours and thunderstorms and cosiness. But thinking back to summer on one of those rainy days while being stuck on my term paper feels so surreal.

Visit of the Big Bayan Tree parc in the Gaotian village near Guilin. The tree in this parc is apparently about 1400 years old - according to our Chinese friends, you´ll live a 100 years when you walked a loop around it!

My best friend and I also traveled to China this summer :) This is a sketch I made on our trip to the Great Wall, we hiked from the Mutianyu section towards the wilder part in Jiankou. It was super hot and tiring but the views were incredible and absolutely worth it! We both really loved the day, it’s definitely one of those memories that you keep forever.

I finished my undergrad in the beginning of June and am starting with masters in September, so I am using the summer to travel a bit :) In the next posts I will share some impressions from my drawing diary, this is the first one from a trip to southern France (Frontignan). Hope you´re all having a great summer!

The ‘upside-down’ jellyfish (Cassiopea sp.) thrives in near-shore marine habitats. It is commonly found on seagrass beds or in mangrove forests, resting its exumbrella against the sediment - exposing its oral arms to the sunlight. Why this fellow is sunbathing all the time? Its oral arms carry symbiotic zooxanthellae, dinoflagellates (marine algae) of the genus Symbiodiniumthat assimilate carbon and nitrogen for this gelatinous friend.

Arrived safe & sound in Cambridge! America is crazy, but I think we are on good terms. The sheer amount of cookie choices in the supermarket is probably one of the more important reasons for that.
