It was beautiful and wonderful and weaboo-ful and ohdearlorditgotcold o_o;;;.
If you like Porter and the beautiful anime-tinged world of sound and pretty colors he lives in YOU NEED TO GO TO THIS NEXT YEAR (and bring a warm jacket. Seriously necessary.)
1.) The Second Sky letters against the Oakland sky… the San Francisco skyline stretched out behind. The colors and aesthetic were juuust right.
2.) Ahh… the subtle Japanesey touches… this little wisteria tunnel greeted you at the entrance, sooo meant to reference the Kawachi Fuji Gardens
3.) I had to match my fAsHiOn to the event, of course ✨
4.) Anamanaguchi! They’re near and dear to my heart… I’d listen to them all the time when I was living in Boston and their music brings me back to all the happy adventures I had there. They’ve grown so much as a band since I last saw them 5 years ago. So happy for them
5.) So… I didn’t know it was Skrillex up onstage until I checked Instagram the next day o__o… When this came on I was just sorta confused why this random videogame music dude was playing Skrillex with no creative mixing ooohhboy He was so good, though.
6.) I know I’m skipping right over Madeon’s lovely set….. butbutbut…. Porter’s Worlds set ;___; …. it was like he’d finally found the perfect venue to bring out the full visual impact and it was amazing *___*
7.) I mean… really. Y’know how they use fog effects in shows to help the light show show better? This genius decided to have his set at a time and place and part of the year when the fog would naturally roll in and engulf everything and you’d get THIS. You got to be in the Worlds world - 8bit flowers and all.
They’re holding the festival next year and, barring death, I’M GOING O__O. End of story.
