By far the biggest episode we ever made was Weird 3. So I’ve split this into two posts. I spent a lot of time trying to capture a sky that I had felt was suited for a world as crazy as Weirdmaggedon, and I finally found one I was happy with by the time we made it to Weird 3. The top 2 Images line art was drawn by Ian Worrel, and painted by me. The third image was pretty much a collage of art that I pieced together from multiple artists from the show. Some line art by Janine Chang, Ian Worrel, Paul Tsui, and some line art and paint by myself. The explosion in the ground was drawn by Ian Worrel or Sun Jae Lee, and painted by me. The Bill painting I believe was drawn by Stephanie Ramirez, which I then painted.

More beautiful BGs from Jeffrey Thompson and the BG artists of Gravity Falls!

And here we have the second(and my favorite story) of the three deValier books I worked on.

We’ll Meet Again
By George deValier
41,886 words
Teen
Hetalia: Axis Powers
America/England

The cover designs for all three were based on 1940’s cover designs that I found. I tried to use colors that I felt reflected the story for each set. The bookcloth is again Italian bookcloth.

For this book, since this story took place in a pub called the Emerald Lion I of course had to incorporate that. So when I found the green lion paper I knew I had my end papers.

Body Text font: Crimson Text
Chapter Headings font: Tea Chest
Title page & Cover fonts: Tea Chest & Gotische Missalshrift

Once again I used photo manipulation software to create sketches for the story, with sketches in color mostly representing moments of hope and B&W sketches for moments of despair. My favorite is the pub sign which I had to spend much longer getting all the components as I needed them and then getting them together as I don’t have any photo manipulation software like photo shop and had to jump around between free programs to do different bits at time.

I also have a posted for Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart and Besame Mucho.
